First visit was 4 stars. Would have been 5 if we didn't have to wait for 20 mins to get our credit cards returned to us. Second try was takeout which also took a long time. I was told they did not put my order in the system when I called it in. Third time was sadly the last time I will visit. Service really needs work.
the food was horrible, salsa is good. Beware if u use a credit card they charge an extra $1.90. so sad I was hoping it would be good.
We had a fantastic experience at Don Chuy’s on Saturday night (6/28/25). Their APC Del Mar is out of this world and has already become my absolute favorite dish. The margaritas are huge and the presentation of drinks and the food was top-notch.
And being there on their grand opening weekend, if you took time to pay close attention, you could really see how hard the wait staff, bartenders and Manager were working to try to make it a great night for everyone.

Don Chuy's Fresh Mex & Cantina offers amazing food and service. The Michoacana Fajitas, tamale, and enchilada are delicious. Portions are huge and the food is hot. The guacamole is perfectly fresh and the corn tortillas are freshly made. Drinks are strong and the Margarita is top notch. Be aware that there is a card fee for those not paying with cash.
