waitress did a great job. chips were light and crispy. salsa was just the right blend of flavor and spice - hot, but not too hot. overall, food was pretty good, except the enchiladas were greasy. never had a greasy enchilada before. will definitely give this place another try!

During a recent trip to Kansas City we were surprised to find out that several On the Border locations were shut down. We actually drove out of our way to go to this one. We were very surprised to find it not very busy and not very clean either (dirty booths and tables). The wait staff seemed very irritated with one another, and were not providing very good service. The food was definitely not worth $90. I can't believe I'm saying this, but just go somewhere else. It sucks to say because it's one of my favorite restaurants. The one positive thing I can say is the chips and salsa were great!

Not as good as it used to be. Last couple of time, food has been over cooked, drinks were weird, service is very slow.

We waited for a table. Place was not even 1/3 filled. I had time to use restroom and wash hands. Got seated and waited even longer. Food was ok. Waited on ticket and server took time bring back card. ?

Took our family of 7 to On the Border at 5pm for my son-in-law's birthday the first week of December. Went in to an almost empty restaurant with an empty table for 8 right in front and was told that because we had 7 they "could not accommodate" us! It's clear that this restaurant is on it's last leg and i expect that not too far in the future it will be going out of business. We drove across the parking lot to Outback Steakhouse. I have never seen anything like this. They lost what would have been a large check for our group in order to preserve their empty restaurant. Will NEVER go to this location again. We still owe our son-in-law an On the Border meal so we are going to plan it for Lee's Summit

Today is my birthday so my husband 6 kids and I went to on the boarder. (Kids choose Mexican). We get there at 7:10pm they close at 9:00pm we walk in to an almost empty restaurant maybe 3 tables sat. 3 servers at a kiosk standing there chatting. We are informed that because we have a table of 8 2 adults and 6 kids they can’t accommodate us and kicked us out. They clearly from what we could see was 3 servers and and a bartender and none of them were actively serving anyone! Yet we were refused because what it look liked was they had already cleaned the floors and didn’t want to reclean a section. Lazy. I haven’t been here in probably 3 years. Anyone who has kids knows the trouble of getting 6 kids loaded up to go in and out of restaurant the kids chose just to load back up and try to find somewhere else to eat. Terrible service. Very unprofessional.

The food was very bad. Chimichanga was undercooked, tasted of flour. The sauce on my enchiladas was broken and unappetizing to look at.

The wait wasn’t very long just unfortunate that they don’t have enough employees to open up the bar area or other areas for customers to eat. Seen several couples and families turned away due to not enough employees. Food was great could have been a bit cleaner as there was only one section to focus on.

Very nice servers and the food is pretty solid. Sometimes the kitchen can be really slow - just be ready.

Decent Mexican food, but I can't say I was overly impressed. The salsa was spicy, but not that flavorful. Similarly, the chicken fajitas were fine, but unremarkable. Good variety in the salad. Call the food average. The "llive" guacamole, made at your table, sounded really interesting, although we didn't order it. Good friendly service.
