Food is so good

We came here for dinner on a Friday night. The restaurant and staff are nice. There are a couple of TVs so we were able to watch the World Cup matches during dinner. The restaurant wasn't busy so the service was attentive. We were looking forward to dinner but the food was average to below average. We got the Japanese udon, tuna nigiri, chicken teriyaki bento box and 2 sparkling sakes. The udon didn't have much flavor, the tuna nigiri wasn't the most tender, and the chicken teriyaki had a very smoky aroma and was very dry. I chose the tuna roll for the bento box and rice in the roll was dry. But the sparkling sake was good, cold and refreshing. The staff was super nice, just wish the food was better.

We got korean bbq chicken wings and a bent box with bulgogi. Most of the chicken wing bones were broken creating lots of small sharp bone shards and the soy garlic sauce neither tasted like soy or garlic, tasted like any other sweet wing sauce. Bulgogi was just thick beef slices that had teriyaki sauce thrown on it. Bulgogi is supposed to be thin sliced and marinated in several ingredients. Overall poor food quality and mediocre ingredients. Service was neither good nor terrible. Mediocre restaurant.

The experience was not ideal. I got the cheesling boneless and wings of fire traditional. Having gone to several other bbq Chickens around the nation, I was surprised cheesling was not an option for traditional, something that really bummed me out.

The cheesling boneless were somehow dry. It's pretty hard to make chicken thighs dry so this was very shocking and impressive. Whoever cooked this batch was also very shy with their usage of cheesling powder as it was not the best distribution I've ever seen. Definitely used to places that pour it on. Maybe they were running out but it was sorry, to say the least.

The wings of fire traditional were actually decent but the chicken itself tasted completely unseasoned. It was like they took a naked, unmarinated wing, fried it, then just put some sauce on top. You still gotta season the chicken or it's just not gonna taste super great. Just seemed lazy.

Lastly, our server seemed completely unenthusiastic about doing her job. I get that nobody wants to do a job anymore but she didn't even try. Completed the absolute bare minimum and never once cracked even a short smile. She never even introduced herself. Me and my associate were completely cordial and respectful the entire time and were quite confused at her behavior. The kicker is that we were literally the only two customers in the establishment for quite some while.

Overall, I wouldn't go back. The service was lackluster and the food was expensive for the quality we received. Huge disappointment.

Very interesting concept to have both sushi and Korean BBQ in the same space, but it was a great lunch stop! Top tier sushi menu and food (we didn't have anyrhing from the Korean BBQ side) in a more casual experience. Definitely recommend!

I never leave reviews, but the service I was given tonight was so beyond acceptable that I felt the need to leave one.
My husband and I have been wanting to try this place for a while now after hearing the food was good. We ordered and I specifically requested no onions in my meal.
The food took a very long time to come out, but I try to not complain about wait times during peak hours because I’ve worked in food service and customer experience jobs my entire work life. My food came out with onions and I did not want to wait any longer so I politely requested it be sent back and removed from my bill. The waitress who was helping us was patient and kind and told me she would fix the bill for us and left. When she came back, a manager came with her and told me word for word: “You said you didn’t want onion on your food? This isn’t onion, it’s scallions. It’s green onion. It’s different. If you don’t want that next time say that.” Onion. Green ONION. Scallion. I don’t care, I requested for them to not be in my food.

If you don’t know if a customer has a preference for how their food is prepared, or if a customer has an allergy—your first response should not be to come over and harass the customer over YOUR mistake. I hate wasting food, it doesn’t make me feel good to send food back and 9 times out of 10 I will suck it up and deal with it. Tonight I really just wanted to enjoy my food. Another point to mention was I could hear the waitresses talking about how I sent my food back for it being made incorrectly. They were directly behind me. I’m not saying I don’t talk about customers behind their backs, but I definitely don’t say it where they can hear it. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Aside from the service we received, the prices are absurd here for the portions you get. My husband got 5 wings for nearly $20 when for the exact same price at the nearby Korean fried chicken place you can get more than double what he was served. They charge $6 for a side of kimchi which typically comes free at any Korean restaurant. $7 for edamame. It’s not worth it.

We both left unsatisfied and hungry.

I had the worst service in a while here. I had the Indian girl as my waitress. I don’t even know her name because I never got a proper greet. There was only one other table but it still took her almost 20 minutes to get my order. She was so rude and never checked on me. I had to ask the sushi maker for a fork because she wasn’t around. There are some people who shouldn’t work in the service industry and she is one of them. She didn’t care about my experience or refilling waters or just simply doing her job. I rate my service experience with her 0 stars.
