Stopped in the Overland Park location for lunch, haven't been in a while, but it has changed. Service was cordial and the sides were just like they have always been, very good. The chicken was very disappointing. I had the two piece dinner and asked for two thighs. The thighs were very small with very little meat on them. Definitely a small grade. When served they were warm at best. I'm guessing they were fried before I arrived and cooled considerably. I arrived at noon...
They were close to closing time when we arrived but, they were happy to seat us and did not rush us. We were the last guests in the house and they treated us no different than any other time- welcoming, hospital and very friendly. The food was fantastic, plentiful and fresh! I think next time I get to enjoy stroud's, I will purchase one of their fun tshirts, too!
Fried chicken is the star here — crunchy on the outside, tender inside, with a peppery gravy that ties it all together. Portions are huge, sides like mashed potatoes taste homemade, and the whole vibe feels like a hearty Midwest family dinner.
