I was in Wichita and tried the fried pies from Arbuckle's. I had a Bierock pie, which is kind of a mixture of ground beef, cabbage, and onion inside of a deep fried pie crust. My first impression before I even took a bite was "smells kind of like an egg roll". It was very tasty; reminded me of like if a Midwest housewife took a typical hamburger hotdish and used it as a pie filling. I also had a sweet potato pie, which was very good. This came by recommendation from a fat guy who knows his food, so I knew it would be good. I was not disappointed. I had it two days in a row actually. I had the polish one, pizza, cherry, blackberry, chocolate, and coconut. I brought some home and they were a hit too .

I love pie. Doesn't everybody though? These pies are Amazing. Thier crust is delicious light and flaky which is so very important when it comes to making good pies. They are also larger than I expected and very good overall. I had a breakfast pie to start with then a bierock pie for lunch and blackberry for desert. BTW the bierock is not the round ball you might be expecting. It is meat and onions etc stuffed stuffed into the same crust as the other fried pies. It was good but...read full review
