I've always loved coming to the winery. My wife and I would randomly stop by, have a tasting, and buy a few bottles. Even sitting outside with summer sausage, cheese and wine. (its the perfect spot for a date or just to relax). It's sad that we have to make a reservation now and can't just show up on a whim but I understand. I will be planning a trip there this fall, the mulled wine is the best!
Is this place still open??? Tried to phone for a reservation and it was disconnected.
Prairie Fire is a great place to spend an afternoon. The winery is set in a great location showcasing the prairie. The wines are exceptionally good and include many styles to suit everyone. Highly recommend for locals looking for a relaxing weekend trip and those traveling 70. It’s a quick stop off the interstate.

Prairie Fire Winery, Candles & Lavender Farm is a wonderful winery located in Paxico. The owners and staff are known for their kindness and excellent service. They have been praised for going out of their way to help customers in need, such as offering rides to the winery or accommodating late arrivals. The winery offers a variety of dry, semi-dry, and sweet wines, as well as mulled wines, which are a customer favorite. They also have a selection of snacks, cookies, and cheeses to enjoy with the wines. The winery has a cozy and clear shop, as well as a beautiful outdoor area with a patio, perfect for spending an afternoon picnic with friends and family. The views are incredible and the ambiance is perfect for wine tasting. Customers highly recommend trying the Storm Chaser Red or White, as well as the warm mulled red. The winery also has a beautiful store where you can find cheeses, summer sausage, candles and other items.
