We highly anticipated dining here. Our table was the closest table to door so we were barely inside dining room. It was extremely loud acoustics making it difficult to have a conversation. We ordered the peach tomato shareable and just a handful small bites of peach. The waiter seemed to forget about us most of the night but it also seemed like he had a lot of tables. The most disappointing was the $100 steak. We ordered it medium rare and it came out very rare. It also had no crust/sear or taste to it. I’ve had some amazing steaks in my lifetime and this expensive one missed the mark. A very expensive mark. The pork cutlet was really good and the manager was very nice and attentive.

Dining at Scratch is, quite simply, an experience. From the general vibe and ambiance, to the intentional and personable service from both waitstaff and management, Scratch should find its way to your “Must Try” list—if it isn’t already.

We’ve eaten many times at the old location. But since they moved to old story location, the place could not scale. We had to get the server called over many times during dinner, he was as inattentive as it gets, didnt get people’s drinks for like 30 minutes. The food arrived and the table of 7 all had pretty average to low average meals. My stake was blah - like Outback Steakhouse, the chicken was 90% cous cous - and then a 3 ounce piece of dry something. It’s said - this was our go to place and is now it’s done. Sometimes bigger is not better.

This is truly a gem! They really live up to their name with everything made from scratch, including their cocktail sauce, and the fresh seafood. We found the food to be really great value for how fresh the food was and the quality of the ingredients . The very welcoming owner comes around to each table to say hi and we even got to meet the Chef who is trained at Michelin star Saison in San Francisco, but came back home to his roots here in Kansas. Making some of the best food we’ve had here. They had. A steak fillet with fries special that was really great value and the scallops were delightful.

I had such a great experience at Scratch Gourmet Kitchen. The food was outstanding- everything was fresh, flavorful and expertly prepared. I especially enjoyed the asparagus salad, and the bartender suggested a cocktail pairing that complemented it perfectly. That recommendation really elevated the meal and showed how knowledgeable and attentive the staff is. Will definitely be back for another visit!

Great food only feedback is that courses came a little fast - main came on top of appetizer- but this a small thing- meal was really good

Ate here for the first time and was somewhat shocked by the high prices initially, but figured we’d give it a try.

First off, they recently renovated and the place smelled like stain/varnish, which wasn’t the end of the world, but definitely noticeable.

They have small plates available for somewhat reasonable prices, but the portion size you get it is quite small for the price. The potato beignet appetizer was quite delicious, but that’s where the deliciousness ended.

My wife ordered the steak frites and I got the waygu ribeye steak. Both of which were mediocre at best. The waygu steak was $100 and was tough and bland, and I’m not convinced it was actually ribeye or wagyu. There’s a $25 brownie ice cream dessert that I was initially curious to try, but after being disappointed with the $100 steak I figured that would also be a let down.

We had an appetizer, glass of wine, and two meals which cost about $200.

I can’t speak to any of the other menu items, maybe they’re better.

We enjoyed our anniversary dinner here so much I wish I could leave 6 stars. The food was so delicious l was giggling. The atmosphere was friendly, intimate and serene. The servers timing to check on us was always perfectly timed. Jeremy took wonderful care of us, giving great recommendations for our entrees and drinks, and we felt like they celebrated our anniversary with us while also giving us our space. Will be back and also recommending this to friends and family.
