The food was excellent. I wish the dining area was as outstanding as the food. The space just seems so plain. I would definitely return, but not for a special event. It's a neighborhood gem with fantastic food.

Dinner for my wife's birthday. Jason our server was awesome and helped us navigate the menu and wine. Excellent, intimate venue with unique and excellent food. The Sea bass and steak were insanely tasty, NYC, Chicago, SF food and vibe.

This was our second time at Scratch. Our entire experience was wonderful. We love that the restaurant offers a quiet, peaceful place to enjoy very delicious food and attentive waitstaff. From appetizers with cocktails through dinner and dessert with wine, Scratch did not disappoint!

The menu was small but with good selection of items. Cute little indoor space that was intimate. Our food was great, the drinks were good (although a small size drink collection) and service was

I recommend giving Scrstch a try! Great place for a romantic date but make sure you book well in advance if you want to sit inside. Price point: $50-$75/person for food. A la cart so price will vary depending on starter, salad, soup, etc. Wine is great but plan on $15-$50 per glass for reds. We spent ~$210 plus tip for 2 people, two meals, one appetizer, soup de jour, salad and 3 glasses of wine. Service 5 Stars. Both the waiter and the hostess were highly attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the food and wine. Atmosphere: We sat outside and it was a little windy and cold but they provided both standing heaters and even blankets for warmth. The inside is a small intimate space and reminded me of a European style restaurant or bistro. We had the brochette as the starter. The roasted tomoato seasoned spread had great flavor. My partner had the soup de jour (gumbo) and a salad while I had the gumbo and Sea Bass for dinner. The gumbo was excellent and I actually had two orders since it was so good. ? I have a diminished palet so I ent to like my seafood with spicier seasoning but otherwise the Sea Bass was excellent. Thanks for a lovely evening. We will be coming back again soon.

Small cozy restaurant with amazing food and great service. We had a dinner for our group of 22 and everyone was happy with the choice. My sea bass was exquisite, for appetizers we had bruschetta and chipotle black bean dip. Delicious! I would have preferred the bruschetta with raw tomatoes (not cooked) and more basil taste, but it was good. Great culinary experience!

Our dinner at Scratch last night was not just the BEST we've had in any KC restaurant over many years, but rather ANYWHERE! The welcome was warm and the ambiance is first class. The “mocktails” were creative and excellent; the wine list was excellent as well. Our server, Emily, was friendly, knowledgeable and professional...a joy. The food: my wife had the best fried chicken (and accoutrements) she has ever tasted; my salmon was fabulous as well. The chocolate dessert was beyond belief, that you just have to order.... and be prepared to be blown away! We can't wait to return!

Been here twice and it's now our favorite place for a special occasion. The chef is amazing and even the cocktails are terrific. Wine list is quite good for a small restaurant. Very quiet and intimate.

Our dinner was excellent! We started with raspberry chipotle black bean dip with house made chipotle seasoned chip, that was like nothing you've ever had before. Very flavorful start. I had the roasted beet salad as a starter. My wife has the soup of the day and it was beef stew. Both were very flavorful! For our entree I had the Sea Bass and my wife had the beef tenderloin. Lastly, dessert. Get the brownie! It was a chocolate brownie with chocolate gelato with a hard chocolate dome covering it. The server poured hot chocolate sauce over it to melt the chocolate. To finish the brownie she sprinkled salted roasted hazelnuts on top! Excellent food, excellent service.

I recently had the pleasure of attending their 5 course wine dinner featuring wines from Nickel and Nickel, and it was truly an exceptional experience. The wines were paired beautifully with each course and the food was spectacular. I was very impressed with the thoughtfulness that went into each course. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and definitely elevated our experience. Would highly recommend if you are able to snag a spot for these monthly dinners!

Food was good! We liked the atmosphere but the management likes to turn tables fast even though many were not filled yet due to our early dinner time. The server was excellent, no problem there. But she was obviously trained to hurry people up and get us out of there quickly. Our party of four felt after one hour we were not welcome anymore. We were even told that we had to be out in an hour and a half at most. This was emphasized early through constantly rushing us to order very quickly, By the time we got to dessert we decided to leave and pay the bill so we could stay within our 1.5 limit. So….we will not return. Sorry the management has this strategy.

A pleasant little restaurant with an intimate interior and lovely sidewalk seating. Extensive wine list and good quality spirits available for cocktails. Would like to try it again with different menu selections, but a little underwhelmed by our courses - a nice cheese plate, followed by roast chicken with jasmine rice and vegetables and a mushroom sauce; and a chicken and pasta dish. I can only speak to the roast chicken - the jasmine rice was sticky and a bit overcooked; the chicken was well cooked but lacked seasoning (in the opinion of my palette); the vegetables were perfect; the mushroom sauce was disappointing - less mushroom, more akin to a cream of chicken soup type of gravy. I think I expected more emphasis on the earthiness that good mushrooms and sauce would add to a chicken breast. It was fine, it just wasn't what I expected or thought it could be. We will be back and will try another offering. It seems well patronized and I hope it keeps it up!

Our experience was great. If the management did not have a policy of rushing guests through their dining, I would say it was excellent. We were forced to go elsewhere for coffee and dessert, since our time was up at our table. What a ridiculous policy! Sorry for the great wait staff that they have to share this policy with guests and risk not getting a better tip.
