I came in this morning to grab breakfast. An employee in a Hy-Vee Chef's coat was standing outside by entrance smoking a cigarette and looking at his phone . I went to the grill and picked up a sandwich in warming bin stacked on top of another. It was cold because they're not supposed to be stacked. I moved the cold one to the bin over that was empty and grabbed the one underneath. The employee that was outside smoking walked behind me and slammed the sandwich I moved that was cold back in the bin It was in prior. He was cursing and making a big deal of it. He directly walked back to the grill and started cooking. Didn't wash his hands or use gloves. Now he had smoked a cigarette, touched his mouth area, his phone, and door. Not washing his hands at any time. I told the cashier of my treatment and hot food improperly kept temp. Large male heavy set employee not washing in his hands and cooking the food . She just shook her head in disbelief. I will stick to the 87th St Hy-Vee gas station. They're nice , and clean. However, normally Angela the manger is nice and I would have talked to her but didn't see her this morning.

Sadly, a lot of people could care less about good customer service yet they themselves want good customer service when they go some place.

After shopping exclusively from here for 12 years, today was my last day ever walking into this store again. There wasn’t one checker working when I went in to get the few items I bought, so I had to use self checkout. The woman watching the self checkout was way too close to me, this isn’t the first time she has done this either. She was a skinny blonde with glasses and is the rudest person that works at this store. Not only was she super close but she made me uncomfortable and made it seem she was watching me like I was going to steal. Between my boyfriend and myself, we collectively spend over $2,000 a month here, I don’t need to be treated that way because I have a memorial tattoo on my arm and a nose ring. I’ve already spoken about this very thing with a manager a few months ago and nothing has been done. I will be shopping elsewhere, I will never spend a penny at this Hy-Vee or any other again.

This was a nice light meal, which was exactly what I was looking for. I had the Mahi Mahi Chicken Tacos. It has cabbage, chicken, pico, and aioli honey Sriracha sauce. It also has a hard shell taco wrapped up with a soft tortilla. I must say, this unique combination really worked. I was a little curious about this place, but I was also reluctant; however, I am glad I finally gave this place ago.

Placed an online order to pick up at 4pm. Arrived at 4 pm and it hasn’t been started. No sorry about that: nothing. Very disappointed in the lack of customer service!

When we were in a few weeks ago we noticed they had a sign on the counter saying that an Allergen card was available upon request. We called to ask about their gluten free options and the allergen card and they didn’t know what we were talking about(it’s right on the counter next to the register). A Mgr got on the phone and said “we don’t have that anymore” and advised at what he thought was GF so we said we’d be right up to order, but he wanted us to order over the phone since it was 8:30. We ordered over the and picked up our food only to find when we got home that the tacos they brag about being made to order were cold and soggy and we had asked for NO black bean & corn salsa and pico, instead they put the BB & corn salsa on anyway. We also asked for ranch with the Buffalo chicken salad instead they gave us the blue cheese. We called to let them know that maybe they shouldn’t be in such a hurry to get out of there and close, then maybe they could actually pay attention to the order and make it correctly! There was a long pause and all the Mgr said was “Uh sorry about that, I can write your name down for an order of free tacos”. Really…no thank you, we won’t be back! It’s a shame too because the food is pretty good, but it’s clear from our experiences as well as the previous reviews over the last several years that the lack of training and customer service is an ongoing issue. At this point, it seems as if the owner is just indifferent to the negative feedback and not much interested in addressing the ongoing customer concerns, let alone making any changes.
