It doesn't get any better than this for a unique dining experience! Right here in the heart of Jonson County, this one of a kind castle was the perfect place for a birthday brunch. I highly recommend the Queens Power Bowl.

You’ve entered a majestic castle, expecting a feast fit for royalty, only to be handed a plate that looks like it came straight from the ogre’s leftovers. You agree to pay a king’s ransom for a meal that tastes like boiled water. You are dining in a grand castle during the age where seasoning is all but scarce. Salt is a luxury reserved for the nobility, and spices are practically mythical, spoken of in hushed tones as treasures from far-off lands. The food is so flavorless, it makes swamp water seem like gourmet soup. And the price? It’s like they charged you for every brick in the castle, leaving you wondering if you just bought the moat instead of a meal. Imagine dining in a king’s castle, where the chandeliers sparkle and the goblets overflow, but the food? It’s as if the royal chef took a day off and let the court jester handle the menu. The bread and butter was so bland, served with plain olive oil, surely it’s the same bread they throw to the peasants standing in the shadow of the castle gates. Despite the lavish surroundings, every bite feels like a bland cruel joke played at your expense—a feast fit for no one, not even a dungeon rat.

Very pleasantly surprised by the fantastic entrees! We decided to give wandering vine a try for date night. I did a flight of their whites with distinction. The wines were different and I appreciate that there’s so much variation on the wine menu. I would’ve loved to see some additional fuller body whites in the wine by the glass options but still they have some really interesting choices available. We had the lemon ricotta focaccia, strip steak and the lobster cavatelli. The focaccia was well-made, though the tomato chutney is lost with the ricotta and basil. Overall, it was tasty, but I’d probably try a different starter next time. There was a bit of a weight for our entrées, but as I said, when they arrived, we were quite surprised. The steak was absolute perfection. The outside had a flavorful crust while the interior was a beautiful medium rare. The Demi glaze on top was a nice touch. As for the sides, we had the mushrooms and potatoes. I didn’t get the Madeira aïoli from the mushrooms and the potatoes needed additional seasoning, but both were decent. The lobster cavatelli was outstanding. I was full, but kept sneaking a few more bites because it was too good to resist. Typically beats are my least favorite food on the face of this planet, but the golden beats mixed with the asparagus and sage cream sauce went well together. We finished with some coffees as we were too full to try a dessert. We will definitely be back.

The food is expensive but it is worth every single penny. The duck had crisp skin and deliciously juicy inside. Everything I ate was incredible and I was surprised every time. The bread was delicious and the drinks were great too. The owner Carla is an absolute sweetheart and personable as they come. I have no bad things to say about this place.

The Lion’s Mane mushroom dish is to die for! You will NOT regret it. Everything else was wonderful too - the service, the warm and elegant atmosphere, the appetizers. Most definitely will be returning for a date night in the future!

We went with another couple for New Years Eve. Sadly, the food was quite terrible. The only thing that was cooked correctly was the monk fish, but everything else on the plate was cold. The beef Wellington was completely dried out and rubbery. The dessert was inedible. We did bring this to the attention of our waiter acknowledging it was not prepared right. However, the bill still came at $359 for two people (there was only 1 glass of champagne). Really disappointed as we had high hopes for the evening.

Our server was great, but the owner was far from that. She was extremely condescending towards us. They were also out of half of the menu, which is already small. We got the pumpkin ravioli and it was good but the portion was tiny for $40 and nothing was ‘wow’ about it. If you have ridiculous amounts of money and no taste this may be the place for you. Won’t be back but mainly for the owners attitude towards us.
