I bought a strawberry and cream pastry (called a snail). I snarfed it down in the car while running areas. Going back down Fairlawn on my way home, I had to absolutely stop myself from going back and buying another one!! Their pastries are awesome!

Crossiants were good, especially the apricot and cream one!

Probably the best pastries and sweet treats in Topeka. I have never been disappointed with anything I ordered here. Plus I’m a bit of a foodie, so you should just try this place.

This isn’t just a bakery, it’s a love letter to butter, flour, and the soul. Nestled quietly in Topeka, this French bakery is a rare and radiant gem. The pastries? Sublime. Crisp, delicate, layered with intention. Each one a masterpiece that whispers of Parisian mornings and artistry in motion.

Now, a gentle word to the punctual: this is not Starbucks. There’s no drive-thru, no timers ticking behind a register. The owner is an artist; one who dances to his own rhythm, not the clock’s. Sometimes the doors open fashionably late, but when they do, oh, mon dieu; it's worth every minute.

If you’re chasing strict schedules, maybe keep driving. But if you believe, like I do, that good things are worth waiting for, then arrive with patience and an open heart. Show up 30 to 60 minutes after opening, and you’ll likely be greeted by warm aromas and an even warmer smile. Because here, the pastries are always on time, even if the hours aren’t. Please note: not a place for dining in. It's a perfect place for picking up. I get enough for the week since they are only open Friday - Sunday. Treat yourself. You’ll be smiling all week. 💛

Best pastries in town. Also excellent sandwiches.

Incredible pastries. No longer a cute cafe, sure, but finding food this good that isn't cheating feels impossible most places. There is no shortage of well decorated chain restaurants serving the same rubbery food off of a sysco truck, so when you find a place like this, with skill and a story behind it, be grateful and enjoy it while you can.

Grosses me out seeing a dirty plate and fork as a pic advertising this business. This is why I won’t try it.

I don't know how this place stays in business.

First how are you not open in the morning if your business is pastries?

The website said 9am. We were leaving town but waited until 9 to get some for the road.

We showed up at 9 and it was still locked and lights out. Nobody was even inside. No cars in the parking lot. It was bizarre. So we left. We found a pastry shop in Manhattan that was actually open and actually ready to sell us some pastries.

Tiny hole in the wall bakery... small operation with huge heart and amazing small batch pastries. If you are looking for quaint and cute this isn't the place, but if you want amazing pasties it's the bomb. Best pastries in Topeka.

I have been living 17 years in Kansas City, trying different places and finally found the good one. These empanadas are simply amazing, the puff pastry, the filling delicious! Worth the 1 hour driving to get them.

Wasn't sure this shop was even open. Came in to see if there were any available savory pastries, and wasn't expecting much since it was 30 minutes after opening and nothing was in the pastry case. The proprietor was warm and friendly though, and told me he'd just pulled the turkey & provolone croissants out of the oven. We had a good chat while he packaged up my croissants and ran my card.No complaints here on his food handling technique, a bit of a surprise for me that, considering that the shop looks like it's still in the process of getting set up.The biggest surprise of the visit was the croissants themselves. We're pretty those were the most perfectly laminated, lightest, flakiest croissants we have ever had (including the ones we had in France). The turkey was overshadowed by the wonderful provolone, but that's not a complaint at all because that was some quality melty cheese. We will definitely make a bee-line directly for Le Petition Bon Bon next time we come through Topeka.
