It has been years since the one on 6th and Washburn closed, I was in north Topeka and thought, it's been years, I'm going to treat myself. As I drove into the parking lot, there was only 1 car at the drive-thru window and I thought "Winning!" 1st I was floored by the $13 2 piece fish and fry! 2nd, I read the entire menu 3x before anyone acknowledged that I was even there, and they said it would be a minute. Well, long story short, after waiting 6 minutes to be told to wait, 3 more to have had enough and as I was driving out of the parking lot, the same car was parked at the drive-thru window... How long was wait..?

The food was okay and the staff were amazingly friendly the whole time, but it was absolutely disgusting inside. The building looked like it could come down any time and there was cob webs inside the windows, trash and dirt in the corners what I really hope wasn't mold growing on the condiment counter and in the bathroom (I'm pretty sure they never clean the bathroom as there was feces on the toilet and urine across the floor and dirt coating the sink and mirror.)

This place is just gross. Cockroachs on the walls. Seen a mouse chasing a roach across the floor. Just nasty infested dump. If all those drive-thru people would come in side. They would literally throw up. The floor is so greasey it's like walking on ice. ?

This place is like a living legend. Their food is not good for you. But it is so good. They have better choices on their menu now, such as baked fish and fish tacos, without greasy breading. But not to worry! They still have all your greasy favorites that you know and love. They have batter dipped fish and chicken planks, baller cole slaw, crispy, delicious, hush puppies, and yes, you can still get a pirate hat! ☠️ Bring the family, dine in, and yes, if you get that great service you deserve, ring the ship's bell on your way out, just to say, "thank you"!

We spent just over $42 for food. Sat in the drive through waiting on food for about 15 with no one before us. One of the meals didn't have the side (Fries) even with it. The fries that actually made it into the box were inedible. Seriously!! They were HORRIBLE! After waiting that long for our food we were convinced the food would be really hot. Not the case at all!! How do you wait that long and not have fresh hot food? This place has literally made me never want to eat at LJS ever again. Good work, Topeka LJS.
