Just tried Norseman Brewery by Lake Shawnee today for lunch. Such a fun, foody menu. I had the grilled Shrimp salad - delish. And hubby had the pulled pork tacos. Also yummy. It's so nice to have another choice to eat out by the Lake! We'll be back.

Just had fried calamari and it's to die for. Then had a Cuban sandwich and it's delicious. The place is very clean and the wait staff is very friendly and took very good care of us.

We stopped by for dinner and had the chicken sandwich special, the chicken breast was absolute rubber. You couldn't cut it with a fork, or a knife, maybe the worst piece of chicken I've ever eaten.

The brisket burger was dry and flavorless; possibly re-heated. The mashed potatoes were also dry and flavorless. The hummus platter was good. Our server was attentive and pleasant.

Not your typical place is SE Topeka. They make their own beer, which is refreshing, and their food is made from scratch. You'll find burgers and chicken strips but what's different is the burger is made with brisket, the "fries" are potato wedges that are seasoned and their burger has some bomb @ss whisky bacon jam. The salads are hefty portions. They also have open faced trencher sandwiches so one slice of bread with generous toppings. Try the egg salad trencher or the Reuben and you won't be disappointed!! They have a Cuban is freaking amazing!!! Oh, and shrimp tacos?!? Four of those bad boys and I swear they are the best in town!!
We were there for a birthday party upstairs and there were young children crying, screaming and fighting around the games the entire 2 1/2 hours we were there. Which is directly below where we were sitting.
When we arrived around 4:45 I went to the Men's Restroom and there were no paper towels for drying your hands. I informed the bartender they were out. I used the restroom 2 more times before we left and still no paper towels. I let the bartender know each time there were no paper towels yet. When we left at 7:30 and I stopped to use the restroom before we left there still were NO paper towels.

Went for lunch, and it's been a long time since I had a tomato based stroganoff, and the one I got here was made to perfection. The service was wonderful as our soft drinks never got empty. I'm definitely adding this to my list of first choice dining locations.
