Good pizza, waitress was absent minded, forgot toppings and did not give me my change from the bill

Love the atmosphere here! Great pizza, nice beer variety, and good service too!

We have always chosen Old Chicago over a lot of our choices on the west side of Topeka. After COVID we went back and they were short staffed so the wait would be long so we understood and chose to do something else. Tried to go again tonight and still short staffed but they weren’t busy so we decided to wait because we understand. We were told we could sit in the bar area so we waited for someone to clean the table. They cleaned off the table never came back to wipe it off. After waiting for a little bit we decided to just go somewhere else. As we were leaving I noticed the hostess on her phone. I guess if it’s that bad and you want to keep business I’m sure the hostess could’ve wiped off the table and help her fellow employees out but she didn’t and she didn’t even care we left. This place has always had good food but the service we got tonight was rude.

We arrived after the lunch hour on a Friday. The one person wait staff valiantly made sure our order was taken right away and took very good care of us. The portions were generous and tasty.

Love this place! Great pizzas and sandwiches. My wife and I really like their personal size cauliflower crust Meat Me pizza. I have them add extra Italian sausage. Incredible selection of beers! They can keep track of the ones you've tried as you explore. I love the Shake Chocolate Porter they have on tap!!

I was not impressed with this restaurant. They hardly had any staff so we had to wait to be seated with not but a few tables taken. I wanted a frozen margarita and was told that they couldn't make frozen ones. You have a bartender and a blender, make a frozen one. Then we ordered appetizers and pizza, which took forever to get the appetizer and not but 2 minutes after out came our pizza. Wrong crust, such a greasy crust it just fell apart so needless to say we had to send it back. By the time it finally came out we weren't even hungry anymore. Then he brought the bill, WOW! For us wasting 2 plus hours for the worst pizza I have had in awhile the bill was almost $100.00. I'll never return to this restaurant.

There were a bunch of empty tables hardly anyone in the restaurant. They wouldn't seat us saying they were understaffed. Hostess was just standing there staring at us doing nothing. We were the only ones waiting to be seated. I just wanted to sit down with my family fully aware they were understaffed because the hostess told us that. Waited around for a little while and then asked to talk to the manager. The manager told her hostess she didn't want to talk to us at first because she was too busy. Then when I asked again she finally came over and was very rude. Wouldn't listen to anything I was saying and then called me a d*** a** when I decided to leave.

Normally I will post a pic with my reviews but the new Detroit deep crust pizza looked AND tasted so good, I couldn’t put it down. We sat at the bar and our bartender was great even with it being a bit busy. I used to be a regular customer but a few of my favorite things like the spaghetti pie and calamari disappeared from the menu. I found myself not going as much, but I can’t wait to come back for another one of these glorious pizzas. 10/10 p.s. I’ve noticed the ranch dressing tastes better now too!

My fiance and I stopped in around 1 for their lunch buffet. They didn't have much in the way of choices for their buffet but Scott, our waiter (who was awesome by the way, shout out for him) brought out some fresh pizzas from the kitchen. The food was awesome, the environment was awesome, just awesome all around. We'll definitely be back.

The only reason they get two stars from me is I didn't have to wait to be seated. We waited 55 minutes for our appitiser and another 40 minutes for our entree which was spaghetti with meat balls and an individual pizza. Not super hard to fix. Definitely not worth one hour and 35 minutes. I am going to tell everyone I know not to go eat here. We watched 4 tables who came in after us and left before we got our entree which was wrong and the spaghetti was cold!!! So disappointed, not acceptable.

When we walked in the door there was some weird funky odor in the air That seemed strange as we should have smelled pizza, that should have been our first clue. Took a while for someone to meet us and seat us, second clue. We noticed a large group of men that came in behind us that took a while for them to be seated too. Then we all set and waited, and waited. The large group of men were waited on before us and they proceeded to pretty much clean out the pizza buffet. I went to wash my hands in the restroom and was greeted by the most vile disgusting sewer smell ever, This was where the funk was emanating from! Strike three, we will never be back, most disgusting thing ever, this place should be shut down!

In town for work and the menu sounded good. Had buffalo roll ups and a pizza. The buffalo rolls were amazing with bleu cheese dressing. Unfortunately the pizza was raw and inedible. I decided to get the buffalo rolls again and they gave me ranch - Not blue cheese (takeout) SO disappointed. then I ordered cheesecake with fresh berries - The picture looked so refreshing! Nope - Not one berry - not even a frozen one - Just strawberry water - thin watery like pink water syrup. :(

Had a big group of 10+. The waiter was super friendly and the staff very accommodating. We all had our drinks quickly and never had to ask for refills. Food was great, appetizers were great. Sicilian pepperoni rolls were a group favorite.

I ordered a personal pizza and salad. The pizza was absolutely burnt black. I managed to eat some of the topping. I told the server “this pizza is burnt don’t you think?” She just looked at me funny like “what’s the problem?” Worst pizza I have ever been served. Never going back.

First I'd like to say that I was here on a Tuesday not sure how a weekend crowd would be. The hostess was really nice and polite and greeted me as soon as I walked through the door!! My waiter(Avery) was very good and when I asked for a recommendation of what to eat, he was able to give some good suggestions. He was very on point for keeping check on me and if I needed anything. Now, I decided to go with the cauliflower Meat Me pizza. It was very pleasing and tasteful. The andouille sausage was the kicker for this pizza. Great meal!!
