Went for lunch, were seated given a menu and water, waited quite a while for service. Waitress came and asked if we wanted any drink besides water. We said just water would be fine. We were ready to order. She walks off and we don’t see her again. We finally got up and left. Told the hostess that no one took our order. Service sporadic since 2020.
Ordered a hot beef sandwich. The meat looked like it had been run through a food processor and cut into tiny little pieces and then put into some gravy. I have had the hot beef sandwich for many years and this was just not acceptable. There was more bread on the plate than beef.
Usually, nostalgia is a sensation that comes from a time period you experienced yourself. Many of us didn’t experience the ‘50s, but diners are apart of the American landscape that chances are you have great memories in a ‘50s themed diner, or at least relate to it as a symbol of American culture.
