“I ordered the beef pie and water.

The atmosphere was questionable. The outside looks a little run down, but it adds a charm to the meal. Tables mixed around the dining floor. Clean and better looking on the inside.

The service was fine. This is very authentic, so there is a small language barrier. It's okay because they will get your order right.

The food was amazing. As I mentioned, this place is very authentic. The beef pie was seasoned not for spice but for flavor. A small bowl accompanied the mini pies full of peppers and onions with season blend. Again, it's not spicy, just flavor.
There's no drink fountain. You get bottled water. I couldn't see what sodas they had.
The food came out steaming hot, and that was the only problem because I was too tempted to just jump in.

“This food was delicious. Stopped here while driving back to Chicago from Nashville. Had the egusi soup & Goat stew 🍲 and they we're both very tasty dishes. They also gave healthy portions. Additionally I had to have the fried plantains which were also very good. 👍👍“

“Halal grocery/restaurant. If the guys already there at a table didn’t yell back to the kitchen that a customer wanted to order, I might never have been treated to one of the finer meals I’ve had in a while. I ordered chapati with chicken meat. Two wonderful, thick chewy chapati, with basically like a chicken fajita plate, a bowl of greens, beans, corn, and carrots, and a lettuce, tomato, green bell pepper, lime salad plate, served with an unpeeled banana, and bottle of water. Couple hot sauce options. I was thinking it was a lot of food for the $12 on the menu. Indeed, the meal ended up being $16. We had some miscommunication, but he was patient and friendly enough; no big deal. Will return!“

“As soon as I walked through the doors I was transported back to East Africa. The whole fried tilapia was cooked perfectly and the biryani rice full of flavor. Samosas with meat and chicken left our mouths watering for more. Great portion sizes. This left me remembering village life in Uganda. Thank you Banaadir!“
