“JJ was very welcoming when I walked in. I told him it was my first time there and he said that he already knew. He knows all of his customers. He does everything himself and does it with love and pride. My lamb tikka platter smelled so good I didn’t make it home. I pulled over and started to eat it. Every bite was full of flavor and love. I will definitely be back to see JJ!“

“My favorite falafel and favorite go to Mediterranean spot! Please open a location in Bardstown, Ky. Not to be confused with Bardstown rd, but the small town 45 miles south of Louisville that has absolutely NO options for Mediterranean or any diversity in dining. Thank you all for always serving fresh and consistent food!“

“This place is a Gem in the city. Out of the mediterranean restaurants I have been to it has the best Arabic Coffee and hummus, The service of the staff is 5 stars for being attentive an genuine kindness towards there customers you can see they care an love there business and that shows not just in the way they carry themselves while working but in the meals they prepare. I Sat there with my lady an she ate all her food I was stuffed with all that was prepared on the plate so i took it home for seconds and can't wait to finish it tomorrow for dinner. The pricing was very reasonable an worth every penny I look forward to one day revisiting this establishment for more of there vibrant hospitality and good food think I'm gonna have to get the lambchops next time.“

“I wanted to dock a star for not having cranberry juice for my cocktail, but I couldn’t. The food was unbelievable and the service was top notch. Maddie (please excuse my spelling) was fantastic. She was super attentive and one of the most pleasant servers we’ve had in a long time. The food was dynamite, like the “stop in your shoes when you take a bite” type food. It was unreal. We travel a lot from Pittsburgh, PA and are always looking for that local gem. This is it. You will not regret it. For reference, we got fried artichoke hearts for a starter and the lamb chops and braised short ribs for our meal. Just, WOW! It was unbelievably fantastic.Parking: We have a big truck and could not park in the two spaces that were available. We had a block and a half walk, which was worth it.“

“I've been eating at this restaurant for at least a decade, and it's always consistently great. I constantly point people toward and vouch for this restaurant. The falafel is always perfect. The babaganoush is always beautiful. The beef shawarma ? - I've never had anything on the menu that I didn't love. Brought my girlfriend (her first time) for her birthday, and she loved it as well.Mirage for life!“

“-(Called Maira but comes up as mirage on maps)- First time trying Maira from a recommendation of a friend!! I haven't tried too many mediterranean spots before but thIS is the place. Building is a little small but it's definitely worth sitting down and getting it hot and fresh. I love hummus and so does my bf so we got hummus w/pitta and it was SO good. Especially if you love garlic like us 10/10. We each had our own shawarma sandwich. I got chicken with garlic sauce and he got the beef with tahini. Both of us loved the sandwiches. Me more so!! The chicken was super juicy and came with lettuce, tomato, sauce, and some tiny pickles which i didn't expect but was super yummy!! For sure coming back!!“

“Solid and reliable med fare. Not necessarily "the best" at anything, but damn consistent and flat-out good.I'm a frequent visitor from out of town and have sampled many Mediterranean restaurants in the area. Safieralways delivers.“

“The vibe is a New Orleans Cajun style restaurant with a flare. I’ve visited Louisiana several times, and this place felt exactly the same. Great food with awesome service. But the kicker is the decor and design of the historic building. I highly recommend checking this place out for yourself. Guaranteed not to disappoint.“

“Addis is our weekly lunch spot on Tuesdays because it's walking distance from work and is consistently DELICIOUS every single time! The chicken curry is my go-to, but the chicken kebabs, beef kebab, etc- literally everything is gold! Don't sleep on Addis (good luck finding parking though) ?“

“Falafel Oasis, first time visiting this restaurant upon entering we were greeted by the Hostess/cashier. She was very welcoming and friendly. We ordered lamb gyros and an order of falafel, with white bean soup. The wait was about 15 minutes. The falafel was bland. Not what I was expecting. The Gyros were good but not enough meat compared to what you can get at a competing restaurant, however I believe the portion size was accurate(our portion sizes in the US could be the reason why many are overweight). The White Bean soup was amazing and tasted great.“

“Food was fresh and cooked in front. Got my food in 10 mins. Shawarma rice was cooked perfectly but the meat tasted a little flat. I asked for hot sauce but it was a sour sauce which made the entire dish sour. The amount was good. Service was satisfactory. I will give it another try without hot sauce next time. They have outdoor seating options.Parking: You can park next to the food truck.“

“The Steak Kabob was better seasoned and cooked than steaks I've had at hoity-toity steak houses (at a fraction of the cost...). Family owned business, super nice people. Not a place to take the date if you're looking to impress with ambiance and fine wine, but they serve great food!“

“So happy to see Maira opened back up on the East end. I was a long time customer at their University location. Same menu, and same fresh food as before. The food is as bright and beautiful as it looks. Portions are generous; I ate 1/4 of the vegetarian platter and half of my Greek salad mounded with chicken, and was stuffed. Highly recommend everything, I've tried it all.“

“A colorful restaurant environment, in a great location. The food rates better than Taziki's or The Grape Leaf, but not quite the level of Kebab House. Our food was great, but it came out slow. It didn't come with silverware or napkins, so I had to grab plastic ones myself. There is no table service- we got our own refills and bussed our own plates, so I wouldn't recommend tipping here. (They prompt for tip at time of order, before any service has been rendered.)The front door has a tendency to stick open, which is pretty uncomfortable during cold months. I had to get up several times and pull it closed. The staff didn't seem to notice. The patio area on the sidewalk is quite nice, but I wouldn't recommend sitting out there during rush hour because of noise and fumes.Kid-friendliness: It's a casual environment where a kid would not be disruptive. They even have some kids books available to read while you wait for the food.Wheelchair accessibility: Front door has stairs w/ handrail.“

“Just came here for the first time because I wanted to try fufu. The owner was incredibly nice and accommodating! She talked to me about what fufu is and the different types that are made. I ordered the fufu and pepper soup and palava with spinach. The food was delicious and she brought a water bowl to clean my hands with, as I was eating the fufu with my hands. The tv was a little loud but she was very kind and turned it down when we asked. Very much enjoyed the experience!“

“The Grape Leaf has been a staple of Frankfort Ave culture for almost 30 years. As decades pass and restaurants and businesses come and go, The Grape Leaf continues to hold its ground. I believe this is for many reasons: the classic, relaxing atmosphere both inside and outside, the delicious and always fresh food, and the friendly waiters and waitresses. My waiter, Maggie, was the cutest young girl ever. She was absolutely helpful throughout the whole experience. If you are around the St Matthews area, you must stop by Grape Leaf—no questions asked!!!“
“My husband and I went on a Saturday night around 7. They use Resy for reservations. I love a place that takes reservations! It's a trendy intimate ambiance that seems more date like to me than something for a big group hangout. We liked the duck and beet salad for food. Pretty disappointed in the mussels but it didn't bring down the evening too much. My husband liked his old fashioned and I appreciated the alcohol free drink options! Marie from Tennessee was our server and was very friendly! Seemed like she could have used another server to help on the floor as the night went on. We'd return!“
“Delicious Fresh Food. Kind Service. Cassava was very good not spicy though, with peppers and onion. Chicken crispy. Plenty of seating! Good Music but not too loud I was able to get some editing done. Will return and I suggest you give them a try! Thank youuu“

“I'm glad you enjoyed the delicious food and appreciated the great service at the falafel dining place. However, it's concerning to hear about disruptive incidents with individuals who seemed to be struggling. It might be helpful for the management to address such situations to maintain a comfortable dining environment for all patrons.“

“Delightful experience. Some people might be worried about not being familar with Mediterranean cuisine. Don't be. The menu is easy to navigate, food is full of flavor with many different combinations, staff is helpful, and ready to prepare based on preferences. It's a great lunch or dinner place, one that you can get in and out in a reasonable amount of time. It's quick, tastey, and reasonably priced. If you haven't tried it, step outside your comfort zone. You won't be disappointed.“

“Ordered take-out for the first time here today and it was great. Food was ready when I arrived and still plenty hot. Lamb burger with feta tasted great and the chicken harrisa gyro was also tasty. I wish it was spicier but the flavor was there so definitely no faults. The rice was delicious and perfectly cooked. Loved the mild lemon flavor of it. Can’t wait to come back!“

“Absolutely amazing!!! Some of the greatest chicken I’ve ever consumed. The super awesome lady who worked there asked several times if I wanted more sauce or bread with my meal…in this “self checkout” obsessed world this type of service was incredible. Eat here immediately!!!“

“This is the best Mediterranean food I've ever had. I always say I'm going to try the salmon kabobs because I've heard great reviews about them, but I can't get away from those delicious chicken kabobs! The herbal rice is so amazing and I have to have the Greek salad every time! No disappointments when we visit Shiraz on Hurstbourne!“

“Love this place! I have been here more times than I can count. The food here is always so fresh and tasty, and the staff are also super quick at making orders. This is the best Mediterranean food I have found so far in Louisville. My favorite entree to get here is the Chicken Pita with a side of Greek salad. All of the vegetables in the Chicken Pita and the salad are so fresh, crunchy, and delicious. I also love the dressing that they include with the Greek salad, it is perfect. The Gyros and Baklava here are also great.Highly recommend this place!“

“Hands down, the best chicken shawarma in Louisville. Would recommend the shawarma fries or the shawarma plate if you're extra hungry. Don't forget to add some Zu sauce to your order. It's very mild on the spice level but adds a nice zing to your meal. The owner is one of the nicest in town as well. Glad to see family run businesses doing well in Louisville.“
