I had the chicken biryani (special of the day). It was just perfect!!!! Right amount of spices (not too much or no too little). Service is great !!! Small dining area but kept quite well. My regular go to is hummus (starter), chicken Shawarma or Athenian broiled chicken. Their hummus (starter) and garlic sauce are heavenly !!!! Now, I can add Chicken Biryani (special) to that list.
I have been going to Maira since they were located on UofL’s campus. When they closed up I was heartbroken. I tried to fill the void they left by trying out other Mediterranean restaurants in Louisville. After returning to their new, current location, I can say with 100% certainty that they are THE BEST MEDITERRANEAN SPOT IN LOUISVILLE. The staff is amazing and the food is spectacular.
