Empress chili is where it all started. You have Empress to thank for Cincinnati chili. Had to go to the last remaining one open. Coneys were my favorite menu item. Glad to see chili pizza on the menu and interesting takes on classics like chili and spaghetti coneys. They also had fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and a variety of sandwiches. The building itself was very large inside and very clean. I was surprised how nice it was. Awesome restaurant, definitely check it out and...
We really like coming back here time and time again bc the chili tastes better than Skyline or Goldstar, but we always order spaghonys, which are coneys with spaghetti in them instead of the hotdog. Except 3 out of 4 times, we got the hotdogs instead of the spaghetti and had to send them back. The most recent visit it didn't taste the same, and we realized it lacked enough chili on them. We'll give it another try and decide if it's worth the drive from Cincinnati...
The first Cincinnati chili has become become the best Cincinnati chili again! Generous portions of great texture with actual spice flavor instead of grease puts Empress back on top for me!
