I like the atmosphere overall but the DJ on Saturdays definitely plays the same songs. I don't mind the 2000 joints but there are so many great options from that time there no reason to play the same ones over and over again. You can almost set your watch by him. When you suggest other music the DJ acts as if he doesn't know the music or is just not open to suggestions. Maybe a refresh on the Playlist would do the trick. Nevertheless I like this place.
This is one of the best dive bars in the area. Being a dive bar is not necessarily a comment, but they do have a decent crowd and DJ on Saturday nights and their patio is nice. Also, as you would expect from a dive bar in NKY, there are a lot of smokers, which I’m not fond of, but I’m sure that is a pro for some. We stopped here at slow time 2:30-3:30 while Lorenzo was bartending and he did a fantastic job. He brought dog water outside on the patio and gave us excellent service. & our hot and Kentucky bourbon wings were AMAZING the size was generous and they were crispy and perfect. Me & my husband were surprised with how quickly our food came out with such excellent presentation and taste. We had 2 of the local beers and they both were fantastic!!! 42 Saloon & Grill offers a great atmosphere with a dive bar vibe, attracting a decent crowd. On Saturdays, a DJ plays music from the 2000s, which some find repetitive. The patio is a nice spot, although there may be smokers around. The draft beer lines might need more frequent cleaning, affecting the taste. However, the bartender Lorenzo provides excellent service, even bringing water for pets. The Kentucky bourbon wings are a highlight, crispy and generously sized. The local beers are also fantastic. The indoor smoking may not be for everyone, but the outdoor seating with cute patios is inviting. Overall, a place with quick service, tasty food, and a welcoming ambiance, perfect for a return visit.
