As I’m switching jobs, my coworker took me for lunch to Limewater as a farewell present, and as usual, she picked a great place! Located next to the river, offers a patio that invites to stay in a beautiful spring or summer day. Inside, decoration and style are relaxing, yet classy and simple, with a small lunch menu that doesn’t make it too difficult to make a choice. I noticed in the drinks menu that they make their own beer (this is NOT a brewery, but they have a couple homemade beers) which I’ll be happy to try next time I go there. The place is ideal for a date, a special celebration, or just to treat yourself or someone you love.My friend ordered the fried chicken with gravy that contained a subtle hint of sage; chicken was fried to perfection, crispy in the outside AND juicy in the inside, over a bed of creamy and flavorful mashed potatoes. I had the Lo Mein Stir Fry with chicken, and could not stop talking about how tasty it was!! It seems to me that it had some ginger that enhanced the flavor of this minimalist dish.I will return for sure, and I strongly suggest you to visit Limewater whenever you have the chance!Vegetarian options: Some dishes offered the option to add meat. If you don’t make a choice, then your meal won’t have any.

Six of us had dinner here at the recommendation of a trusted friend and it did not disappoint. Jessie was our server and she was outstanding. It was Beef Wellington Thursday so that was the entree of choice and everyone loved it. Also, we all shared the beet salad and it was wonderful as well. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was that our first bottle of wine, a $90 Italian Rosso was undrinkable. Literally no one drank it and we all LOVE Italian red wines. Also, we poured one glass and the glass was dirty so that was a loss but no one would drink it anyway so no big deal. We also shared a bottle of red Zinfandel and a Shiraz and both were great. I really thought they should not have charged for the first bottle but Jessie did comp my coffee. We will definitely return. Our dinner for two that included the bread appetizer, beets, bad wine and two entrees with two sides was $260 (including gratuity).

Such a great place. Delicious food and a great value for our lunch. We had a gourmet lunch for the same price as the Apple b chain restaurant. Unbelievably good. Go if you’re even close to the restaurant.Dietary restrictions: Gluten friendly

After wanting to try Limewater for a while, I finally had the opportunity to come for my birthday meal, and it was wonderful! Jessie, our server, provided great service and the food surpassed our expectations. We can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu.

Ridiculously nice service, incredible food, and wonderful ambiance. The halibut I had was cooked exactly how it should be, as was my wife's steak. I've been for brunch a couple times and their hot brown is killer. First time for dinner, will be back.

Very good food. I had the chicken dish, and it was delicious aside from the sweet potatoes, which were savory and smoky instead of sweet, but that's just a matter of preference. The other potato side was excellent and so was the sauce. The chicken was cooked well. Definitely not diet food though, lots and lots of butter.

Beautiful historic setting, AMAZING food, wonderful service. It is warm and cozy with a great selection of spirits. Try the beets or cheddar scallion fritters appetizer. We were lucky to be there on the night where Beef Wellington was the special. I can't say the word AMAZING enough! Got to meet the chef too. And the chocolate cake was superb. Make sure to read the back of the drink menu to learn about history of the house where this restaurant was located. We will be back. If I could give 10 stars, I would!!!

Made a reservation online for same day, later in the evening, selected upstairs seating. Was sat downstairs at a high top in the bar area (which I specifically wanted to avoid, hence why I selected upstairs at a later time than available at a high top). The person serving us was responsible for the bar also. She yelled across from the bar to take our order (didn’t even approach our table).I ordered the Halibut, which in itself was tasty, but received green beans instead of the advertised asparagus. Potato spirals = potato chips. I didn’t feel that my plate was a $40+ meal & I certainly wasn’t full.My husband ordered the Steak Frites and it wasn’t impressive. The seasoning was NOT there. The potato wedges were overdone & dry.Was hoping to find a date night spot without driving to Lexington, but we won’t be back… overpriced, underwhelming, and service isn’t impressive.
