I love BBQ, and I like to support family-owned restaurants. We popped in for lunch one day to try Thomason's. The building is quite small, but very clean. I was pleasantly surprised they had table service. As we were dining, there was a non stop stream of customers coming in for carry out orders. I chose the rib plate, and my friend got a 3 meat sampler. My ribs were ok.... Not very meaty, but the dip served on them was tasty!!! It had a heavy amount of cumin!!!! Yes!!! It worked well with the ribs!! The beans and slaw were good, but a bit watery. Our potions were small, served on a plastic plate with plastic utensils. ( see photos). We were both actually still hungry after we finished our meals. It was just OK for me, nothing to write home about.
Ordered a smoked turkey for our Thanksgiving this year. Had it pulled with sauce on the side. Reheated for Thanksgiving dinner and it was excellent! I'd definitely get another!

This was a great find in Henderson, Kentucky. It is a small storefront with about five tables. However, there was a steady stream of people purchasing carry-out the whole time we were there. The baked beans were wonderful as were the chicken and pork barbecues. They have four barbecue sauces. I particular liked the bourbon barbecue sauce and my wife liked the sweet sauce. The owner, Kevin, was fun to talk to.

I think that this is the only place that still serves bbq mutton left in Owensboro. I know mutton is one of those foods you either love or hate but give them a try let's keep a localized food tradition alive!
Perfection!! Vintage charm, hometown hospitality and if you get takeout, the longest drive home you'll ever have. Everything from the food, the people and the marketing is spot on. This is a must visit!

Hands down, the best BBQ. Period. I've been enjoying their mutton and pork all my life and have never found their equal. If you're in Henderson, give them a try.
