“We saw this place recommended online and decided to stop in late in the evening (8ish). They took our order fast and had it out crazy fast too. They had a wide selection of meats and sides and sauces. Everything was flavorful on its own without sauce, but their sauce selection was really tasty and rounded out the base seasoning really well. We had the chicken, pork, brisket, sausage, slaw, beer cheese grits, potato salad, baked beans, and mac and cheese. If we lived out here I would be back frequently for the good food, fair prices, and friendly people. Definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area.“

“Visiting from out of town and was looking for someplace that served up some Burgoo. I first tried burgoo at Churchill Downs and really enjoyed the taste. I saw an article online listing Double H BBQ as one of the top burgoo locations in Lexington and decided to give it a try. Glad I did. Their burgoo was broth based and what I was looking for. Also tried the white chicken chili, green beans and a small brisket sandwich. Everything I tried was good and made my belly happy.“

“Had City Barbeque carter our wedding on 10/11/2025 and it was incredible! Food was amazing and plentiful. Had plenty of leftovers for me and my husband to take home. Antonia helped us plan everything with the food and we couldn't recommend her enough to plan your big days meal! Service was fantastic at our wedding as well! Highly recommend and worth every penny we spent as we got a bunch of compliments on the food!“

“Fantastic place. Our waitress, Emery was a star, most personable. The food was amazing and very, very generous. Great combinations of taste. The brisket was so tender and flavourful, Brussels were sweet and crunchy.
Our first time in Kentucky so wanted to try a bourbon, the bar tender found just the right one for me.“

“This spot is great for a casual bite to eat. They have very good food and I will definitely be back. I took away one star because of the appearance. In fact the first night when we pulled in we actually ended up leaving because it just looks so run down and there is a dilapidated hotel or something in the back. But after reading more reviews we decided to give it a try the next night and were sorry we didn't come in the night before. The food and service are excellent! Don't be scared off by the appearance.“

“First time eating here! And it was the best experience ever. I got curbside pickup and the lady that brought me my food was super friendly and very nice. The food was worth every penny. I got the baked potato with brisket and it was huge the brisket was amazing. My 17yo looked at me and says why have we never eaten here before it the new favorite place for him! That says a lot. I would recommend to anyone looking for great BBQ food!!“

“Was at proud Mary's for mothers day and had an wonderful time. Food was amazing. Upstairs bathroom was super clean. Out side area was super clean staff was also amazing and super clean. I see comments about an bathroom being not so clean. Well here is what I have to say don't let your children stuff whole roles of butt paper in the John's and if u make a mess let some one know. And the place is very old and down stair is an over flow restroom u would be complaining if it was closed. Yes it has water in floor but also seen a boy and girl playing in sink and stall. Over 5 out of if I could give 6 stars I would.“

“Today my bestie and I tried Korean BBQ for the first time and it was AMAZING!!! First off the staff (I didn’t get the young ladies name) was BEYOND amazing she helped us choose our food and showed us all that we needed to do with cooking our own food. She was super sweet. The food was freaking amazing! We had the meat and seafood. Our first time trying squid and it was pretty good. We felt warm and welcomed here and it was truly an authentic experience. We definitely plan on returning to try more things.“

We got seated quickly, our server was amazing, our drinks and apps came out within a few minutes, my margarita was delicious and not skimping liquor, and our food was amazing! The manager came by and we praised our experience. 10/10 would recommend.“
