Apparently this place has changed hands somewhere over the years I've been driving by without stopping in, but today I finally NEEDED caffeine in a bad way and decided to give it a go. The space is big and bright, perfect for perching with a latte and a laptop. The menu is not overly fluffy or lacking any variety - just a few good essentials. Wellllllllllll. I am a little disappointed that my all time favourite coffee shop is under new ownership, but I can handle change, and want them to succeed! The coffee is pretty good as far as coffee goes. The vibe has most certainly changed, and is noticeably dirtier since it became Barista Social. This place has the potential to be awesome. However, they still need some work. Offering Sweet Bloom, Panther, and 49th Parallel coffees are a great start. People who are used to Daily Offerings coffee should understand that those roasters above are a huge upgrade. The whole bean coffees from these roasters need to always be stocked and advertised when stocked. When I visited, there were only a few bagged coffees from their own brand, and they were months old.
