We had an awesome time. Had the patio all to ourselves(Me the wife and the dog!) Food was great! Drinks were strong!
Noce place close to downtown and uk campus. Burgers are great and nice drink selection. Can sit on street, on patio, at bar or tables. Small but lots of options.
After hearing about this place from my coworkers, I picked up a club sandwich today and it was delicious. My first time eating there but I’ll definitely be back for more. Many more things I want to try. Thanks for a great lunch!
We recommend the Southern Deli. Its interior is typical of campus-area bars and restaurants - kind of cramped and not especially clean. But the food, service and upbeat vibe are excellent. My wife and I both enjoyed our meal, a Memphis Hot Chicken sliders for me and a Reuben for her. And the fountain drinks included organic juices as well as soda. The juices were great - a much better choice than the standard soda.
The food was incredible! Such unique menu options! We will definitely be back!!
The Winchester is one of the best burgers I have ever had in my life.
Never been here, but stopped in for something different. Place was very nice; loved the décor. Not knowing what to do when I walked in it took me a minute to realize I had to walk up to the counter to order and seat myself at any open table. No problem, just through me off. So, just throwing out a choice and not really reading into it I ordered the "southern". It was everything the menu said it was. LOTS of meat, I had to eat it with a plastic fork because it wouldn't fit in my mouth.. Served on paper plates with plastic fork and knife. It was good, not amazing but that is on me. I am not much on pimiento cheese with a hamburger. should have noticed that on the menu. You get a lot of food for what you pay, but be prepared to pay. I had the Southern and a Dt Coke and it was $23.00 with tip. as you can see from the pics.. it was a monster. I will be back to try other things. Staff was cordial and I did not wait maybe 5 min for my food. Again, I will be back to try other things.
We had a great lunch on the patio. Our food was hot, fresh and delicious. The Lexington wrap was tasty. The bartender (blonde hair) was great!! She did drinks and took our order. She was super nice and made our visit fun. Will be back!
They offer a variety of great tasting burgers and sandwiches, and give you a good amount of fries. Each offering is named after a southern city. Compact & rustic indoor setting with big TV's usually tuned to the sporting event of the day. Friendly bartender and staff. There's nice outdoor seating as well, live music is played here some weekend nights (the mosquitoes will get you though). I go here when I'm hungry and want a good burger.
This place is great! Very cozy and the staff super friendly. The burger and wrap was very good with obvious fresh ingredients. Meat is also locally sourced and very tasty!

Awesome restaurant, very welcoming with great staff. The food is very fresh and well prepared. The San Clemente was spot on.
Unique food and atmosphere and very affordable. The manager was awesome too!
We had never been to the Southern Deli & Tavern so we stooped in for lunch one day. The staff was friendly and our food came out quickly. It wasn't very busy. The club sandwich and burger we ordered was okay. The club was definitely the better of the two but would have liked a little more love cooked into everything - the sandwich had one piece of bacon broken into thirds and placed on different layers, it didn't necessarily look like food/menu images I had seen online and was kind of thrown together extra quickly. A little pricey for lunch - for 2 sandwiches that came with chips (we subsituted fries and a very small side of cucumber salad) with two west sixth draft beers, it was around $40/$45.
Stopped by for lunch while exploring Louisville. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, great food. If in downtown take a short walk check them out.
Such a quaint place. The patio is cozy and well lit. The bar is well stocked and lots of choices. The wait staff are friendly and attentive. The food is delicious. I highly recommend the fried pickles and sauce for the appetizer and the Rachel and fries for you meal. If you are ever in Lexington for a visit or just passing through you need to stop by and enjoy
