The staff & owners are friendly and accommodating. We have never had a bad experience at Blue Dog & we have been customers since 2008. They have the best bread & pastries in Louisville. When my son had an allergic reaction they were so caring and kind to my family. I can’t say enough kind things about this place!
My wife & I had a great lunch at the cafe. We lack a quality bakery & pastry shop back home in Indiana. Our lunch & purchased baked goods were of the highest quality. They had a friendly staff and solid atmosphere. For a firs-time visit, the cafe seemed to be a popular spot in the community. We look forward to coming back in the future.

I've heard of this place for awhile. And I enjoyed it. It was a little busy this morning. I got the fried egg bacon brioche sandwich. And it was pretty delicious. I am not big with mayo but that mayo really holds it together pretty well the flavor It was a solid sandwich. I'd get it again.

Easy four-star. In Louisville for work and had visited once before earlier this year. Decided to add this one to my recommended stops. Modest selection but very good quality of breakfast eats. I had the chorizo cheese and onion quiche and is easily one of the top five quiches I've ever eaten. Sometimes when you put onion in it it makes it too watery but it was very balanced. The crust was soft, delicate, and very edible. I think this is the first quiche where I have eaten the entire crust. The cappuccino was good. Will certainly be back again.

came here on my birthday to get myself a lil' treat. i was the only customer at the counter, and waited patiently to be called on. a few minutes go by and finally eye contact is acknowledged. i order a few things, only to hear employee frustration that the tags don't match the pastries. not my fault but it felt like it was taken out on me. as i scramble to figure out what is what the employee calls on the next person, and completely ignores me. this keeps going on, so i leave the bakery on my birthday cakeless.
i'm sure the food is good, it looked great. shame the pretentious air of those in charge of service. won't be going back.

Never had anything I didn’t like. I would visit all the time if I lived closer.
Bread and pastries here are divine. You can pick blindfolded and it will still be guaranteed amazing. Kouign amann is the best we’ve ever had - they are available only on Fridays and Saturdays and usually sell out before the afternoon. But, there are plenty of other pasties and they are all fresh, flaky perfection. Hands down the best bakery in Louisville!

We asked what they recommend and (forgot the name but it was orange pistachio. It was so good, perfect amount of orange flavor, not over powering at all. We didn't dine in since we didn't want to wait (thinking, coffee wouldn't take long) and didn't realize dine-in have a different menu. It was a little busy, but it was worth the wait. The granola, we also loved it. I loved the clean ingredients they use as well! This is the kind of bakery ive been looking for!

I would give the food and service 0 stars if I could. The lady didn’t smile one time, I had asked what were some of the favorite items and she said it’s all good. So, I felt rushed and unheard from the beginning. It felt as though she meant pick your items, pay and go. I went with some safe options and got a chocolate chip cookie, a blueberry muffin and a lemon tart and everything was DRY. Theres no way the pastries were freshly made. It was about 14.00 which I thought was pretty good until I tried it all. I was very surprised how dry and flavorless all the pastries were.

Waited 2 hours for scrambled eggs, just to get yelled at by the waitress after asking for a check, mockery. Also, a bakery that has no pastries in stock…

Two of us came in for lunch. We were seated at an indoor table & waited several minutes before anyone approached (they gave myself & my toddler water). A few more minutes passed & our waiter arrived & took our order. One salad, a bag of chips, & a bowl of fruit. After half an hour, our food still hadn’t arrived. We saw our server twice: once when he took our order & once when he brought our drinks. I had to flag him down & ask for our food to go, as it was now past half an hour of sitting & I had to get my daughters. The food looked good, but it is not a kid-friendly menu, & service sucked. $27 for a salad, a bag of chips, a condiment sized cup of fruit, a Diet Coke, & chocolate milk - plus tip.

Outstanding breads and pastries and other baked goods. The peaches and creme roulata is to die for. Will definitely be coming back to try the sit in lunch options.
