Our server, Abby, was terrific. Our bartender, Mike, is best in class and makes perfect recommendations. The chef, Jeremy, makes the best shrimp and grits I've had. Everyone there is incredibly friendly. Jeremy talked with us after the kitchen closed and was really charming. If you live in or visit Louisville and don't eat here, you're missing something special.

Fantastic place for dinner! Our waitress was an absolute delight and had nothing but good suggestions.
I went with two other friends, and we all left very satisfied. We started with the muscles in white wine sauce, and it was absolutely delicious, we had to ask for more bread to get up all of the sauce, it was so tasty. The squash pasta was very hearty without being heavy, very cozy option. The salmon and forbidden rice was also super flavorful, with a nice, bright sauce that offset the salmon well.
The desserts was where the dinner really sticks in my mind, the bread pudding was apparently a twin of my friend's childhood dessert, very lovely, not too sweet but losts of wonderful flavor in the burbon glaze especially. The chocolate dacquois was deeply rich and the mild bitter of the dark chocolate offset beautifully with the fig jam. The orange spice is where it's at though! I feel like I could eat an entire sheet pan worth of it, just toss on the toppings and hand me a fork. Light while still being full of flavor, the cream was a light and a great way to break up the fullness of the spices in the cake, the topping was the sweetest part of the whole thing and mellowed against the spicy cake and cream. I will absolutely be ordering this again the next time I'm in town!

the food is always good but very rich (heavily sauced—often butter and cream). Less sauce could be more! Cocktails were great!!

We arrived and immediately appreciated the slightly upscale vibe with a cozy bar near the entrance followed by quietly elegant dining space. We were greeted by Anthony and our servers and moved thru the evening at a nice pace, long enough to savor each course. Executive chef brought us our special Hot Brown appetizer and we were blown away with how delicious it was, including brined turkey breast. Loved the personal attention and his seasonal take on a local favorite. Our table fav entrees were the shrimp and sausage grits plus the Scottish salmon. Deserts not to miss were the iconic bourbon bread pudding or the orange sponge cake. My descriptions won't be adequate... just try them. Our lovely server, Sarah, guided us thru the menu with great suggestions for our group and we couldn't have been happier. Thanks for a terrific experience.

Excellent. Always the best. Fried oysters, pork chop or anything on the menu is exceptional. Definitely a must when in Louisville or if your a native like me. Thank you Bourbons Bistro for welcoming my put of town guests.

Bourbon bistro is our favorite restaurant in Louisville. We've been dining there for 20 years. The people that work there have been there for many many years. They always have a smile on their face and are happy to see us return.

We were quite pleasantly pleased with our experience from start to finish. Our server (I believe her name was Desiree) did a fantastic job! She recommended a wine which was so memorable she even brought the bottle over for a quick picture. And her recommendation of the Steak Frites will be my husbands go to selection from now on. My Salmon Cakes were very flavorful and just enough with a Ceasar salad. Looking forward to our next visit!

We found this place through Google after going to another restaurant that didn’t quite meet our expectations. This has a great atmosphere and our waitress was very helpful with all things menu. Started off with Southern Salmon Cakes and a Burrata. This was followed Scottish Salmon, this is grilled, with forbidden black rice, haricot verts, crumbled goat cheese and Romesco sauce made with a blend of tomato, fire roasted peppers, toasted almonds, smoked paprika along with garlic. This is the first time I’ve ever been questioned as to an allergy to paprika, which I understood once I got the meal and that it definitely is noticeable, but not overwhelming. This was a good find for us and really appreciated our waitress.
