Do not sleep on this place. Great people and great bourbon. I went there on a recommendation and I ended up buying their last bottle of their bottled-in-bond wheater and it's incredible. I'm sipping some right now and that's why I remembered to go write them a glowing review. I hope I get to come back to Louisville someday, as they will be a required stop.

The staff here was just the best! They were so knowledgeable and fun. We tasted a flight but they also had us sample a few other things. Of course the bourbon was yummy and the distillery tasting room was beautiful too. It was our funnest tasting on our entire trip! We hadn’t heard of them, as they are a smaller distillery and we just saw their sign and stopped in. So glad we did! Definitely add it to your list of stops on whiskey row.

Ms. Ryan is an amazing bartender you must come and see! Jimmie the owner is knowledgeable and very inviting!!! A definite plus!

We had a great time at Buzzard’s Roost. We just did a flight at the bar and single pours of other different ones. The bartender, which we did not catch her name, was very knowledgeable about the bourbon since we had never had Buzzard’s Roost before. Gave it four stars because when we got back to our Airbnb I checked the receipt and noticed she charged us $100 for a bottle of SFTB Rye #1 instead of for a Char #1 Straight Bourbon Whiskey which is $65. Partially our fault for not checking the receipt but when you have had a lot of tastings you just don’t think of it. So buyer beware and check your receipts before leaving. Otherwise a great experience.

Went and visited over the Fourth of July holiday and was very impressed. The bar was clean, and bright and small, nice music playing, not overwhelming like some of the other distilleries were. Very quaint. David and Olivia were so nice and knowledgeable. We definately did not leave empty handed. I highly recommend Char#1.

This place is just a bar and a gift shop. Also they close at 10 minutes till 6pm as was explained to me by the bartender when I tried to sample their bourbon. Highly recommend Angel's Envy just a mile away, had a great experience there.

Stopped in for a tasting and had a great time visiting with Sarah and learning about the brand. Highly recommend stopping in and enjoying the spirits and conversation!
