Great local food. I have been in multiple Persian food restaurants and Caspian is one on the best. Look like homemade food.

The food is good, but the place is so dirty, but so dirty that made me start thinking about the state of the kitchen and I lost my apetite. It's pretty disgusting.

I don't know how this place has 4.5 stars. 1 star is generous. This was my 2nd time. I thought the first time was a fluke (having a bad day, someone called in sick, etc). Nope, not a fluke.First, those floors look like they've never seen a broom or a mop. Leaves and dirt everywhere.Second, the food was poor at best. We had 3 orders of the ground beef kabob. Kabob was dry, wasn't seasoned properly. It should be called anything other than a Persian kabob as there's nothing Persian about the taste. The tzatziki was oddly sour.Third, what a beautiful building with so much potential but poorly decorated. He has a glass gelato display with just s few options and nothing else in the display. It looks like a going out of business restaurant.literally nothing to make the place look nice. Looks more like an empty bodega than a sit down restaurant.Forth, the owner is so standoffish, unfriendly, unwelcoming person. He's got the personality of a used postage stamp. No greeting, no hello, no upselling or menu explaining. No recommendations. Literally hid in the back the entire time. Never checked to see if we needed anything or if we liked our meal. No thank you as we left. ZERO customer service skills. There's a reason this place is empty. Anyone going there would never want to return.

Went in for gelato and only had 3 kinds. Place needs up dated, dark and needs a good cleaning. Got pistachio and it tasted like i was eating and air freshener not pistachios. Could not eat a spoon full and paid $5 for it to go down the drain.

Almost thirty years ago, a friend made Ghormeh Sabzi for her family and me. It is a traditional Persian dish and one of her husband's favorites from his homeland. I've never forgotten the unique blend of beef and spices over rice, but I'd also never found it again. Today, though, another friend and I happened upon the Caspian Grill Persian Bistro on Frankfort Avenue and they serve it! They call it "beef stew" but I knew immediately from the description of the spices that it was the same meal, and the chef confirmed that. Of course, I ordered it, and it was just as unique, flavorful, and filling as I remembered from almost three decades ago. I'm delighted to have found a place for this occasional favorite treat! My friend had the chicken kabob and absolutely loved it, and I can't wait to bring my husband by for the salmon - I think he'll be really pleased, too. The bistro is a hybrid between counter service and table service, at least during lunch time, and the atmosphere is not fancy. However, the food is fresh and delicious and reasonably priced - I can't ask for more than that! Portions are more than reasonably sized - I had enough Ghormeh Sabzi left for evening snacking but probably not for an entire dinner. In all, a delicious, pleasurable lunch - we will be back!Vegetarian options: Vegan and vegetarian options available.

This was my first visit to this restaurant. But, as one who has a Middle Eastern background himself, I feel qualified to speak to the quality of what this restaurant offers. Well, let me amend that. I had only one item--a gyro. It was the absolute worst gyro I've ever had. And, I've had many. Including Greece. This was not cut from that large combination of beef and lamb that is being heated/cooked by the flames while on a spit. This was slices of something that looked like it came from a deli where it was sliced off of a tube of whatever it is made of. And the taste was hard to get down. It is possible that the kebabs they offer are better. Who knows? But the gyro experience was so bad I'll never return. The fact that I was the only person in the place at 5:00 pm should have told me something. I was too dense to understand what that meant.
