Reading about Checks we had expected a good lunch and a cold beer. This was our first visit to Checks. Upon arriving we looked for a menu, we were informed by an unfriendly statement “read the white board for today’s special. read the above board for everyday menu, and read it fast is changes to next page quickly”, by the rude person behind the bar. The staff is amazing! Tanya is the kindest and most efficient bartender I have ever met. Not to take away from the other staff! The other bartenders, cooks, servers and support staff are awesome as well! The food is just as great as I remember from the 1970's, 80's and 90's! I LOVE to visit Check's every time I come back home!
What has happened to their breaded fish?
We had the 2 piece dinner and after cutting the fish in half it was gray and water logged with this weird tough part.
Completely inedible.This was not the 1st. time we were served this mess. It's an shame. We've been going there for 50 years. We will still go there but not going to order the fish.
