Came recommended by a staff member of Angels Envy...they weren't wrong! Great food, drinks, and atmosphere. The best Old Fashioned we had all day!

By far the most impressive thing about Doc Crow's is the 66 page whiskey list (not a large font). Bourbon has the largest section and Scotch is the second largest (scotch is broken down by region).

We visited Doc Crow's Southern Smokehouse & Raw Bar on 05/23 while in Louisville, and chose it specifically because my friend wanted to try the Pulled Pork Nachos.

Upon arrival, we were seated within about 10 minutes, which was appreciated. The service throughout our visit was one of the highlights of the experience. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcomed.

My friend ordered the Pulled Pork Nachos, but they weren't quite what she expected, as they were made with kettle chips rather than traditional tortilla chips. She also ordered wings, which she felt were just okay. I chose the salmon with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The meal was prepared well enough, but nothing particularly stood out from a flavor standpoint.

Overall, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the customer service was solid. Unfortunately, the food simply didn't leave a lasting impression for either of us. While there was nothing wrong with the experience, it wasn't memorable enough to make me want to return on a future visit.

If you're in the area, it may be worth trying for yourself, but for me, it was an average dining experience.

Food was so yummy!! The most delicious shrimp n cheddar grits I've ever had in my life. The raw oyster are good. But pricy.

We stopped here for lunch en route from St. Louis to Cincinnati. Worth the slight detour! Service was friendly, food (fish and chips, gumbo, wedge salad) delightful. Only wish we weren’t driving so we could sample the 150 bourbons!

Good location, fine atmosphere. All the food was reasonably good, but not spectacular. P{options were relatively small for the price.

TL;DR: Excellent Southern food, a killer bourbon list, and fast service right on Whiskey Row.

My group of four dropped into Doc Crow’s for lunch right before our flight home, and it was the perfect send-off for our Louisville trip. Being located right on Whiskey Row makes it incredibly convenient, especially if you're hitting the urban bourbon trail.

Since it was our last meal in town, I had to try the Small Batch bourbon flight. For $50, the price tag is incredibly reasonable given the quality and selection of the pours they put together.

For the table, we split the onion rings and the pimento cheese. Both were fantastic. The pimento cheese was perfectly savory, and the onion rings had that great, crispy crunch you want. For my main, I went with the shrimp and oyster po' boy. I've had my fair share of po' boys down in New Orleans, and I was seriously impressed by how well this one held up. Everything was fresh, well-seasoned, and hit the spot.

On top of the great food and drinks, the service was amazing. They kept things moving efficiently, which we appreciated with a flight to catch. Overall, Doc Crow's is a solid, must-visit stop if you're doing a bourbon tour downtown.

Doc Crow’s Southern Smokehouse & Raw Bar is a fantastic Louisville stop — cool atmosphere and food that’s flat-out delicious.

We started with the Fried Green Tomatoes and the Pimento Chips & Cheese, and both were great openers. The fried green tomatoes were crispy and flavorful, and the pimento chips & cheese was the kind of appetizer you keep reaching for until it’s gone.

For entrées, we went all-in on Southern comfort: Shrimp & Grits, Hot Fried Pork Chops, a Fried Shrimp Po’ Boy, and a stuffed baked potato loaded with brisket. Everything was absolutely delicious — hearty, well-seasoned, and the kind of meal that makes you want to come back and try more of the menu.

If you want a lively spot with a great vibe and Southern food that delivers, Doc Crow’s is an easy recommendation.
