Had a birthday dinner with friends, sat at the low top table, appetizers were really good and salads were really good. Rolls were not so good. Didn’t taste very fresh at all, they came out shoved on plates with everyone else’s and had to be split out. They put a younger boy in there as our server that was not prepared for a large group of people. I understand that the whole world is short staffed but that was like putting a squirrel in the middle of a busy highway. I...read full review
You can be as safe or adventurous as you want here. We had never tried sushi with beef, but it was a unanimous favorite (ditto crawfish). Other tuna/salmon plates pleased our group. Even my Moscow Mule's ginger was balanced, thank you John Taffer. Skip the gas station sushi and eat here instead. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
menu prices had changed and were not reflected on the menu. when questioned about itaftwr receiving the bill, they said they would not honor the prices on the menu.

Hiko-A-Mon is the best Japanese restaurant in Louisville, with sushi that is amazing, great quality, and always consistent. The fish is fresh, and the preparation and presentation are as good as any sushi chef in LA or NY. Always have Uni available and Toro. Get the Curry Udon, but substitute Tonkatsu for the beef; it is much better. The smoked salmon is the best around, the tanshio is delicious, and the sunset roll is a favorite. The dragon punch is also delicious. The food is exquisite. The staff is great, very polite, and timely. The atmosphere is cozy, intimate, and upscale. However, some bench tables have stains and were a bit dirty. Service can be slow when busy, and the restaurant may be shorthanded on some nights. The servers work very hard and are apologetic for delays. The Japanese pickles from the appetizer section are recommended.
