From Texas, my cousin and I stopped by to see how the food was. Some of the best Gumbo I had. The Honey Siracha was more sweet then spicy, and the basic sausage gumbo was perfect. Overall blessed food, and god bless the woman who was cooking and running it all by herself. Great food, great service, makes you feel warm in more ways then one.

In Louisville for work, been here several weeks, and this is arguably the best dining experience I've had yet. I love cajun food, but most places go outrageous on the creole decor and under on the food. Not this place. Its a small house off Bardstown and it feels less like a restaurant and more like you're getting food from someone's kitchen in the best way possible.Stacie served me and was super friendly and offered to let me sample the foods I wanted. I got a double with voodoo chicken and gumbo and ate every bite. The food was so flavorful and felt homey.I enjoyed the meal so much I had a get another one to go as well as their bread pudding. Great food, more than reasonable prices for Louisville, and excellent service and atmosphere. Ill be back soon.

took over an hour to get food - server than gave attitude when I asked when it would be ready. this place has really fallen off. service is terrible. Don't go to bardstown road location unless you're cool with an all around terrible experience.

Awesome food. Not by any means a fancy place but the lady let us sample multiple items and they were all amazing.

I came in not knowing what to expect and left already trying to plan the next time I could come back! This is the best kind of hole in the wall place, it's nothing fancy just insanely good food. The woman at the counter was wonderful - when she offers you a sample - TAKE! IT! Try it all! And once you've tried it all get your two favorites together. If you're vegetarian/vegan it's a no brainer. Get the Bumblebee Strew with the White Chili. I'm not 100% sure they're vegan but they are dairy and meat free! This place absolutely blew me away! The bumblee strew is the perfect amount of sweet - almost like cornbread in chili form! All I have left to say is yum!!!!

The most Incredible Fast food of Gumbo, comes J. Gumbo's. Great foods, not crazy spicy...have no fear. Easy to order, very affordable and what a nostalgic building.I feared the extinction of this incredible family owned restaurant was upon them, so I was elated to walk into this one.

Ms. Stacie is the best and is always so friendly and welcoming! She starts to recognize you after only a couple visits and she’ll treat you like an old friend! The food is always hot and fresh, and you get plenty of food for the price. You’ll get a loyalty card (after 10 meals, the next is free!) and Ms. Stacie always asks/reminds you for your card to make sure you get your stamps. I was bummed when the one on Hurstbourne closed, but I wish I would’ve started coming to this location sooner :)Parking: Few spots around back, plenty of parking in nearby streets/within a short walking distance.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair ramp around back/side

Cute little house and the food was very good. She gave us samples to see what level of spicy we could stand. ?Our only complaint was that she smoked at the back door, and it drifted in. My wife and daughter had to go sit on the patio to get away from it. I'll go back but on a good day to sit outside or get it to go.Wheelchair accessibility: They had ramps to get in.

The customer service was 11/10. This was my first time here and I had no idea what to order. They were nice enough to let me sample a lot of their food. Good stuff, too. I decided on the Drunk Chicken today but will return for the Honey Sriracha. I will be back.

This place is straight fire ? and very affordable. Mybwife and I usually split the gumbo or jambalaya amd them get 2 sides - corn stew and either Mac or mashed potatoes. We will be out the door for under $25 and with leftovers. Everything tastes so good ?
