Went here during the zombie walk, so I get that they're busy, but I waited patiently at the bar for 15 minutes for a drink with money in my hand. Girls that were standing behind me went around the bar and basically placed their breasts on the bar and got served before me. Made eye contact with one of the bartenders, showed him my money, and he flipped me off basically telling me to get out. This is not how you should treat a customer. Until they flipped me off I was calm, but I left here very upset. Never coming here again.
Great service, friendly and great food. I really enjoyed sitting outside during the summer and people watch.
we did not realize bars stay open in Louisville until 4am!! We did not even realize it was that late bc there was so much going on at this bar. good live music, eclectic group of people. Fun late night spot.
We tried going to Gralehaus but it was packed so we walked around the street to the Tap room grill. We are so glad we did, it was very good, nice atmosphere, good food and great service. We were only disappointed they didn’t have it every day. We will definitely try there again.
We were looking for a laid-back brunch and found it here at the Highlands Tap Room Grill. They only serve brunch and made to order pancakes, so if you are picky, or want sunny side up eggs instead of the buffet, choose another place. Brunch was $12 and kids were cheaper. We watched World Cup games on TV while live music (jazz/blues) played in background. It is a bar restaurant and style is simplistic. We loved it! My daughters snd I would go back!
I live a block from here and this is a regular visit for me. Well known in the Highlands, the pub food is always good. What is unusual is that this pub has a buffet eery Sunday until 2 pm. The food is always hot, fresh, and often replenished. Everything is made on the premises. Each Sunday there will be a scrambled egg offering-- real eggs and fresh add ins. There are two types of sausages and perfectly fried bacon. The vegetable offering changes weekly but twice I have been happily surprised with the garlic sautéed brussel sprouts...a great compliment to the eggs. There is always a fried something...half of the time perfectly fried shrimp (not the frozen ones.) Not healthy but if you are going to cheat on fried food, this is where to cheat. Usually two salads and lots of fresh food. Oh..and they will offer you an individual pancake from the kitchen. This one pancake is enormous and you can instantly tell it has been made from scratch. Carbohydrate bomb, but once again if you are going to do it, do it here! Frequently a jazz combo plays on Sunday and the eclectic atmosphere of the pub enhances the experience. As the headline says...I dare you to find a better brunch in the Highlands.
Ate the pulled pork spring rolls which were delicious and the deviled egg appetizer which was also delicious. Very friendly laid back place. Good drinks too!
We went primarily to watch Michigan play Louisville and I was the only Michigan fan in evidence. It was a low-key crowd, in part because Michigan won. The $12 brunch included $2 mimosas, 3 types of pancakes to order and a buffet with the usual breakfast items along with fruit and salad makings, which I saw almost nobody take, along with spaghetti and meatballs and beef brisket, which were both good. A large selection of draft beers topped it off.
Ok, it's a bar. OK? I don't care, the food is superb! This is my second review of this establishment. I went back to see if I was right about the first one. Oh yes, best kept secret on Bardstown Rd. for good eats. I love the burger, but it's the onion rings that keep calling me back to this small, dark, and noisy place. Friendly service, too. From my seat, it looks like they have every liquor ever made, not to mention the beers. But, back to the food...the pork spring rolls are out of this world, as are the loaded fries....bacon, tomato, and sour cream...could have been more in there but we ate them so quickly...who knew. Their menu reads like a fine dining experience. Somewhere along the way, you forget you're in a bar. Ever seen a hot night spot in the daylight? Yuck! Not this place....spotless! I'm very anxious to try their Sunday brunch....rumor has it that it's remarkable. I highly recommend this hidden gem.
Originally tried to eat at Roots (a veggie restaurant) but closed on Sunday and did not update their hours. Passed this place and what better to pick nest is a beer place! Inside is beaten down, not dirty just a typical corner bar look with a pool table. Parking is only street side from what we saw. We still wanted a meatless lunch. Ordered there veggie quisadia, a salad and veggie pasta. All tasted great, great prices and large on tap beer selection! Definitely would stop again when in the area.
