Will, our server was very personable & had great suggestions for food. It was awesome seeing Mike. The atmosphere is AMAZING & the food was even better. My husband and I will be going back.
Just saw the news about the restaurant changing it's service. Great idea. The service and food was crap when we were there. They should go out of business.

Hate it is closing soon! August 10th I believe, go enjoy it while you can. It is spendy but worth every penny. The food was divine. The chef should have no problem finding a job. The staff treated us like royalty and even gave us a small tour afterwards. Even the security guard practically rolled out the red carpet for us when we arrived. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Parking: The restaurant is inside Churchill Downs on the 6th Floor…may need to use the Longfield or Central Dr Entrances to get to it and then park in W-19.

Good bye Matt Winn's ... Sad to see this beautiful space being closed by Churchill Downs. It truly had the potential to be a show stopper but poor backing from the corporation set it up for failure from the beginning. However the service was 5 star as always as was the food and cocktails.
We loved Matt Winn's prior to this visit. Upon arriving for our reservation we discovered the restaurant was closing. We have had wonderful experiences in the past and the service was equal to past experiences but the food tonight was not up to the past experiences. I would have made different decisions if I had known the closing was eminent. The service staff was excellent.
Outstanding food but service was very slow. I did not expect to be there 3 hours. They were informed that we're celebrating my wife's birthday, but nothing special, maybe a candle on desert in future?
Great ambience. The young lady who greats fills at the entrance with her cart was a real gem! The rest not so much. Food was ok. Wait staff couldn't have been less engaged. For a pricey dinner it would be nice to someone at least ask how things are tasting. Was in town for work so probably won't be going back but if I lived in town I definitely wouldn't with all the other great steakhouse options.
Steak was cooked to perfection and had great view of Churchill Downs. Had Macaroni and Cheese as a side and it was the best I ever tasted.

Very impressed with our whole experience! Service was excellent and the meal was incredible. My husband got the bone in ribeye and it got the seared scallops. Then the dessert!! Omg the bourbon butter cake was my favorite cake EVER! The hubs had the sensational strawberry cake and it was just as good. Leave room for dessert!!!

Matt Winn's trifecta - delicious food, attentive service and memorable ambiance. It's hard to find anything better in Louisville, especially if you are hosting guests from out of town.
My husband and I went to Matt Winn’s to celebrate our anniversary. The atmosphere was great. The food was horrible. I ordered a petite filet mignon medium well. I received it well done. A new steak was prepared for me. It was medium well, however the outside tasted burnt. I only ate a couple of bites. The mashed potatoes were bland. The waiter said the manager was coming to our table. He never came to our table. I’m not a complainer. As much as it cost I should have asked to see the manager.

Danielle was wonderful! We took friends who had never been before and they fell in love- the chef created a special vegetarian dish for one of our friends- the other fell in love with the million dollar bacon- will definitely return again!!
My first experience with Matt Winns. Excellent! Our filets were perfectly prepared and served hot with a nice char. The Mac n cheese is really good, creamy, cheesy and filling. The traditional Old Fashioned was very good as was the dinner bread. And, the view is wonderful. I will return!
Amazing dinner+experience. Group of 7 for my son's 18 bday. Track and then excellent tour/food. Besides the steaks and rolls the other must try was the French onion soup! Dorion the server was over the top. Educational and and all about making it a special evening for our group.
