Burgers are top tier and their sauce is perfection
Burgers are great! And the tots are the best… cooked to perfection!
Owner/chef/register was so friendly and welcoming and shared his love for smash burgers with us, and the rest was very clean and tidy. Food was excellent, it hit the spot and was filling. The fries were off the charts, the chocolate milkshake was what I wanted it to be, not super thick like other places so I could drink it right away! Thanks, SmashD. We’ll be back again if we’re back in Louisville!

SmashD on Frankfort is a restaurant that serves smashed burgers and fries. The owner or chef or register was so friendly and welcoming and shared his love for smash burgers, and the rest was very clean and tidy. The food was excellent, hit the spot and was filling. The fries were off the charts, and the chocolate milkshake was not super thick so it could be drunk right away. The restaurant is a very friendly and quiet little spot. The food came out fast and fresh, within 10 minutes, and is reasonably priced. The menu is simple: smashed and fries, but also includes chicken, onion rings, tots, wings and breakfast sandwiches. The wings are huge, cooked perfectly, and offered as dry rub, Nashville hot, buffalo and spicy buffalo. The fries are all cooked in beef tallow. Drinks are available at Frankfort Ave liquor and wine, with a Fall drink menu including the fall old fashion, espresso martini and the year round staple, pear sake. A seat at the bar allows sipping on an amazing cocktail with food delivered to the seat. The ac was out so that was a downfall, and the food was overly salty. Lettuce and tomato were not available. With a 100 score with health department, everything was great, with great food and clean cooking. It is the best diner style burger and fries in Louisville and the perfect hidden gem in Frankfort Ave that deserves the respect to be sold out every night.
