Mellwood Tavern is a treasure. Great food and drinks and the best staff in town. The fried chicken and sides they serve on Tuesdays and Thursdays are second to none. Live music is always great and they have the friendliest patrons you’ll find anywhere. It’s a really special place and we’re lucky to have them in the ‘Ville!

One of my new favorite bars. Super friendly staff, eclectic music selection and still has that vintage feel you get from old neighborhood bars. Dog friendly and great mix of locals and traveler/explorers.

My friend was visiting from the Northeast and heard that they had the best fried chicken. They only have it 2 nights a week, but we stayed for drinks when we were greeted warmly by the bartenders. Had some great food and learned it was the oldest operating bar in Louisville. A little deadhead vibe always gets me psyched too.
