Wonderful intimate experience. Old Pogue story is very cool. Meeting the master distiller was a humble touch. So much fun.
A great family business that is passionate about making great bourbon
One of my many cousins drove me to this great historical Distillery. We are Pogues also, and many in my family have wanted to visit for many years. It did not disappoint!

The Old Pogue Distillery offers an exceptional bourbon experience rooted in a rich family history. Visitors can enjoy a tour led by knowledgeable guides, including a sixth-generation Pogue, who provides detailed insights into the family and local history. Guests appreciate the personal touch of spending time with the owner and the chance to explore Pogue history firsthand. The main house serves as a mini museum, showcasing an array of artifacts and a short video on the history of bourbon. The front porch presents a stunning view of the Ohio River, ideal for savoring their flagship product. A tasting experience follows the tour, featuring a lineup of four different whiskeys, each with its own unique character and story. Many find the tasting to be excellent, showcasing the craftsmanship and care put into each pour. The distillery, a family-owned establishment on the original property for 150 years, is run by the family and even bottled by hand. Reservations are required, and many agree it is worth the stop.
