10 of my family members dined at Does Eat Place in Paducah last evening, August 17, 2025. I was very disappointed. I understand that Does is in a very old building but the dining area was very dismal to say the least. The restroom facilities were sketchy at best. Your food was very good. However, we found it overpriced. We found we could not order off of the lunch menu even though we had one person with some severe food allergies. he would have like a chicken salad but could not get one. His dinner consisted of a side salad and a baked potato. Speaking of potatoes, my baked potato was not cooked done. I chose not to send it back so that is on me. I cannot recommend your restaurant to anyone for dinner. I would like the opportunity to try your lunch menu but it will be a long time before I am back in Paducah. We were celebrating or 60th anniversary and a really good meal would have been a delight.

you could make it right when food is not prepared correctly.
I split the porterhouse steak with my son and had a salad and baked potato. Every was amazing!! Jake our server was exceptional!! He kept our drinks full and got us everything we asked for. Will definitely be back again and ask for Jake to be our server!!!
Have been a regular to this place for years. My favorite steak go to withing 200 miles. Prolly visit a time or 2 a month. My last 2 visits have been not the same. Most notably, my last visit. My salad was hot, and all stems no leafs at all. When I asked the waitress(never seen her before) she said she's sorry but made no effort to fix anything. Had to beg for refills. Then the food showed up. Had prolly 15 French fries for the entire order. Asked for ketchup, never recieved any. Bread was black..really black. Steak was phenomenal as always. Service, salad, and side portions was a 180 compared to what we usually recieve there. Very disappointed.
Last Night My company had it's Christmas party at Doe's. We've been there for several Year's but last Night was the poorest Experience. Order were incorrect, not enough staffing cold and poorly cooked Bake Potatoes' . And last order Desert were not delivered but all place on a table for you pick as we were leaving and wow they were all gone as I was leaving. My Employer spent several Thousand of Dollar last Night. Doe's is great place to Eat for Couple but for and large Group They could do Better

Have been here a handful of times on dates and itimate dinners with the wife and exes. Doe's is a bit of a legend in the area for its massive, buttery, tender, beautifully cooked steaks and tamales with chili.
I haven't once had a bad waitress or waitstaff experience. They are usually all very professional but friendly enough to chat a moment or tell a joke.
The first few times I came to the establishment, I was vegetarian and enjoyed the large platter of spaghetti that was served.
The times since post vegetatianism. I have enjoyed to the highest level the steaks, tamales and chili they are famous for. Though admittedly, the tamales were just a touch dry but not terribly.
Took my wife once after a trip the grocery store and her asking me what I thought would be the "best steak in the area" (she had been let down by 3 seperate restaurants recently of her steak being over cooked or undercooked to . . . Large degrees.) So next night, I made reservations and took her for a date night dinner.
She looked at the menu and "asked if we could afford it" (there is a bit of sticker shock in when you see some of the prices meant for two people but they are not at all unreasonable for what they are.)
We decided on an appetizer of three tamales (she can be a bit of a picky eater and didn't wish to order more in the event she didn't enjoy them.) the 2 lb porterhouse which comes with two house salads and a side for each person.
Long story short, once the steak was laid before us, her eyes widened in disbelief of a piece of meat so large. The steak was beautifully seasoned and cooked to a perfect medium as we ordered it. She loved the tamales and her not believing we would have enough to eat (we are both a bit on the hefty side and hadn't eaten that day from being busy). Had leftovers for the next meal.
The atmosphere is always lovely with them displaying art from the local talented artist (being smack dab in the middle of the art district, this makes sense and is always pleasant to see).
Overall, it was a well-deserved 5 out of 5 from the both of us. We have been back since that night and will likely come many a more date/ anniversary nights.
P.S. Miss the signed playing cards that used to be taped to the ceiling many years ago. Was a memory I used to enjoy greatly.

We had our small dog and we ordered and ate outside at one of the sidewalk tables. The food was great and the service was super. I had the steak sandwich and my wife had chicken. We would definitely eat there again if in the area.

Smalled like a urinal cake, our waiter kept getting into conversations with a waitress, and we had to ask other staff for drink refills and the rest of our order. Tamales are a 100% LIE!! They are out of a can, still in the canned wax paper. Both steaks were way over cooked, quality of meat was excellent, though. Would not recommend.
