The tuna tataki is awesome
The wait was longer than they told us when we arrived
Great place to put your kayaks in but overcharged us on the last visit
Love the view
Beautiful that place
Great place to have some drinks and look out over the water. They have some good dishes too. Careful of the chicken.
It's a good time, very good atmosphere
Great place
The staff on the Yacht had great customer service
Here we go… you want to try and put your best foot forward when you initially greet someone… consequently you want your servers to be kind, friendly, polite and wearing smiles. Twas not the case here tonight. Walked in the door at 7pm. They weren’t swamped but had several people seated and several waiting to speak with the two hostesses. Short, snappy and kurt are the words I would use to describe her responses. She was not pleasant nor inviting but we stayed despite her shallow dismissive attitude bcz we wanted to watch yachts come and go. With a 35-40 minute wait for outside seating, we took to what seemed to be a nice cushioned bench … but alas smoker’s quickly dashed that hope. We decided to take the first come first serve seating (which I told you guys about that exists everywhere✔️) inside the grille area which was not crowded at all. Greeted in a timely manner by a bartender, we ordered spinach queso dip and fried wontons for starters, a spinach salad and a Caesar salad with salmon. Although waaay overpriced($12), the queso which was incredibly small was the best part of the whole dinner. The spinach salad was far too small to be $14. The taste was acceptable. Hard to mess up a Cesar salad with salmon and yet… here we are. The salmon was so dry that even it was thirsty and the overall taste was simply lackluster- do not recommend. Here’s the kicker…the wontons… were replaced THREE TIMES because they still had ice inside! The DEEP FRIED WONTONS had ice inside… no bueno. For that reason, they get two stars. We watched the best manager have an argument. We heard bartenders arguing from the kitchen to behind to bar. An eventful evening to say the least. The best part was going inside there Original Harrods Tavern! Built in 1850, the rest of Captains Quarters was built around it! Very cool! Here’s the skinny… this is a great place to hang out with friends. The view of the Ohio river is great. All of the lawn seating that is available to enjoy the the cool summer nights is fabulous. Just know that this is not the place to go for the best food- it’s just not. The hostess/ greeters on this particular evening we’re not the best- they just weren’t. But my company was incredible, the ambiance was nice and the conversation was awesome- go for the experience of the Quarter. THAT’S worth the visit!
