A great little coffee shop with a small town vibe. We grabbed 2 much needed iced coffees after being at the ren faire. The service was great and when we walked in they were roasting beans at the counter!

Our first visit here, shortly after they opened on a Tuesday. There weren't any homemade goods on our visit, which would be a nice addition to this place.
The coffee was good and we enjoyed sitting in the front window area.

Hi, I came by on Monday and you were not open. Seeing announcements for a previous closed day, I deduced that information would be accurate and reliable.

The coffeehouse itself I enjoyed, especially their arrangement of postcards and notecards. My lil kiddo was even kept entertained with the two mini animal puzzles laid out while we were waiting, which was so helpful. However, the service however was absolutely horrible; the lady behind the counter was beyond rude and sarcastic with my husband and I the entire time. He ordered a hazelnut coffee and it had no flavoring, might as well have been a black coffee. She overcharged us on one postcard and I wasn’t bothering with her to fix it or even purchase more after walking around and seeing the amazing Furby postcards unfortunately. We were so excited to ride the trolley for the first time and try a new coffee place downtown since the Shelbyville library had coupons for a free drink there, which was so cool. Just so disappointed we ended our amazing Saturday on such a sour note because of her shitty attitude.

Decided to visit this coffee shop based on the great reviews, but unfortunately, my experience was plain uncomfortable — unlike anything I’ve had at a café before.
We’re not from the area and stopped by while scouting homes for relocation, hoping to take a few work calls. When I asked the woman behind the counter if there were any tables besides the two small ones and the high-top, she responded very curtly, almost as if offended, saying, “We have three.” The tone caught me off guard, but I decided to overlook it and ordered a London Fog, while my boyfriend asked about their macchiato and cortados.
When he asked what style of macchiato they served (traditional vs. modern variations), she again seemed irritated and defensively replied that she makes the “traditional” kind. We clarified that we were just hoping for a classic macchiato with minimal milk, and instead of answering directly, she suggested we get a completely different drink — one with whipped cream — in a tone that felt dismissive.
She then asked me to repeat my order several times, even though I had already stated it clearly. The whole interaction felt unnecessarily tense. Overall, it was not the warm or welcoming experience we expected based on the reviews.

Possibly the worst mocha I've ever had; barista hadn't even heard of a flat white. Book selection was great including some Janice Holt Giles first editions.

This is my favorite place to go in Shelbyville, understated and simple, a local hotspot full of local art.
