My family has been coming for years. After today I’m not sure we will be back. Let me start by saying our service/server was fantastic - she was amazing. BUT - our meal was lackluster at best. Northern beans were hard and maybe spoiled, cornbread was so dry it broke and didn’t have the beautiful lacy edges it usually does. The brown gravy was gelatinous and not runny. The pies left us wanting. Our meringue was not fully done - it was foamy and running off the pie.

First visit this past Sunday as tried several things on the menu with an extra meal to go. Loved the burger sides country ham etc.
Definitely will be back as the service staff and cooks 2nd to no one.
THANKS OBR for a great experience.

Our Best is a highly regarded restaurant in the Lagrange area, known for its exceptional country cooking. The liver and onions, praised as the best by many, are a standout dish. The restaurant also offers a variety of vegetable options, ensuring a satisfying meal for all dietary preferences. Despite the drive, visitors find it worth the trip for the home-style, granny's kitchen experience. With its welcoming atmosphere and delicious food, it remains a favorite among locals and a must-visit for out-of-town guests.
The restaurant is praised for its fantastic food, welcoming atmosphere, and excellent service. Customers have especially enjoyed the sweet tea, fried green tomatoes, pork tenderloin, fried okra, mashed potato bombs, fried chicken, and the variety of cobblers. The building's look resembles a barn, with dim lighting creating a relaxing environment that transports guests back to the 1800s. The spacing between tables is adequate, allowing comfortable movement without bumping into others. The chairs are solid, and tables do not wobble, which helps ensure a pleasant dining experience. The restaurant is also noted for its wheelchair accessibility and ample parking. Visitors appreciated the antiques on the walls and shelves, which added to the cozy, country feel, similar to Cracker Barrel, but without worries about dust. The staff are courteous and efficient, contributing to the overall positive experience. Many guests enjoy dishes like the liver and onions, fried green tomatoes, fried chicken, and the delicious cobblers. The restaurant maintains a home-style, granny's kitchen vibe that keeps guests coming back for more.
