My favorite Mexican place in town
Good service & good food
Honestly, I’ve gone here for years and absolutely loved this place, until the last few months. I give grace for little things here and there, but the shift over the last year has been disappointing.
A couple weeks ago, we came in with a large group to a fairly empty restaurant (maybe 5 other tables), and it took 30 minutes for someone to finally take our order. Our waiter hustled while the rest of the staff hung around the bar talking. It’s crazy frustrating to have a group of waiters staring at you while you watch your own waiter hustling around serving every other table in the place. Enrique and the newer waitress are both honestly the saving grace of this place! They both are awesome, and if this place doesn't change, I hope they move on to other great opportunities as they both are seemingly wonderful people!!
Today, I picked up a to-go order. The man who took my order on the phone was straight-up rude, he’s older then most of the staff and I see him there often (he was one of the staff who stared at our table standing at the bar a few weeks ago.) When I got home, I realized the entire meal had been made with a rotten tomato, including the pico. The guacamole was brown. I ate around it the best I could, but the rotten tomato was cooked into the meal and juice from the pico had bled into the rice underneath. Such a waste of money, and gross. But what’s more concerning is that the lack of service is starting to spill over into a lack of care with the food. We’ve also had to scrape sour cream out of our meals several times over the last few months because it was clearly bad. One rotten tomato is fine, but for it to be in the cooked food and the “fresh” pico, plus brown guacamole all within the same meal? That’s a really concerning issue.
I would never have made a post like this a year or two ago, because something like this would have been a total fluke. But as someone who comes here weekly, sometimes multiple times a week, I’m sad to say the lack of care seems consistent across the board now, both in how the staff treats customers and in the quality and cleanliness of the food. I hope y’all can figure it out 🙏 It’ll be a while before I’m back.

Completely different than Casa Grande #1. Def drive across town and eat at the other one, this one sucks! No flavor at all. Even the staff is rude. Should have known when we pulled in and there were only 2 cars there..

Very disappointed in what they served as a tamale.
It tasted ok but was definitely NOT a tamale.
Everything else was fine.

My expectations wasn't high due to the lack of good Mexican food.
I was blown away. The meat in both dishes was seasoned superbly. Real food ans people who care what they serve, and it shows. Yummy!

Delicious food and friendly staff!!
If you like Birria, I think I've tried it at every Mexican restaurant in Somerset, Casa Grande has the best! Go get some! Everything else was great too, especially the margaritas!

It was okay. My son ordered a sweet tea and got sick so fast he didn't eat his food and ended up throwing up. I asked for a wet cloth to clean up the booth and 5 mins later he comes back with a small dry cloth.
