Hidden gem with great food and friendly service!
I was picking up a pizza at Marco’s on Taylor Mill Rd. (never Newport!) when I discovered a Mexican restaurant I hadn’t known existed — El Jinete Mexican Restaurant. And what a treat that turned out to be! It might look like a little hole-in-the-wall from the outside, but inside it’s bright, nicely laid out, and has a great vibe with a good-looking bar.
We sat on the patio with our dog....

And what a treat that turned out to be! It might look like a little hole-in-the-wall from the outside, but inside it’s bright, nicely laid out, and has a great vibe with a good-looking bar.

We love this place and visit as often as possible. The wait staff is always very nice and welcoming, food is always fresh, hot and prepared quickly. We also love the atmosphere, its lively but not loud and is very inviting. Would recommend to anyone I know. 10/10
