Was shocked that the staff did not use tongs or gloves to take pastries out of the display cabinets, and that the pastries were hard..1st time back in since I came back to town, was disappointed...

$30 for 3 cookies, 2 coffees, 2 croissants. Dont try feeding the cookies to your kids. Their rock hard. The sausage croissants was cold so im assuming its been sitting out as long as the cookies have been. Service is slow and the set up for ordering in or ordering to go is confusing.

Now a days bakery cakes can be almost too sweet, but Atwood’s cake is perfection. Taste homemade but 1000x better iykyk. Everyone enjoyed the beautifully designed cake. Definitely will be my go to birthday spot. THANKS ATWOOD!

I always come to atwoods for every occasion and they are usually consistent and offer very good service. I will say the inside is always clean and the phone service has always been nice, however some of the inside workers can be a bit rude, but it could have been a long day for them so I can overlook that. I got a cake and cupcakes for my daughter's birthday party, I sent them all the pictures about a month or so before hand, they had them all ready on time which was great and as expected however the cupcakes didnt look like the pictures. The colors of the cupcakes were so dark and they blended together to make a muddy brown color, they were supposed to be bright colors. I had someone pick them up for me since I was busy doing things for the party that morning so I didnt get to check them but there wasn't enough time to have them remake them anyways. Overall, they got eaten so it wasn't that bad I guess, I just wish the colors actually matched the party ❤️ thank you atwoods for being very attentive with the time and consistent great tastes of your cakes, maybe just have the bakers take another look at the pictures emailed of the treats before decorating! I will add photos of what the cupcakes were supposed to look like and what I got for further explanation. But the cake turned out pretty good.

Recently started coming here for breakfast on some Saturday’s with my little family. We absolutely love the food and cozy/friendly atmosphere. I tend to order their French toast with a side of bacon and eggs, but their shrimp and grits are phenomenal, too! Don’t forget to grab some of their desserts on the way out!

I won a king cake from a giveaway at Thomas B Wahlder and it was the BEST I have ever had. Cream cheese filled and delicious. My first time getting something from Atwoods and they didn’t disappoint! Thanks

I was saddened and sick hearted when I tasted the birthday cake we got for my step-son and paid over $40 for. This was the worst cake I have EVER tasted. I use to buy cakes for all my kids when they were small and Atwoods was still on Texas Ave. I recommended Atwoods to the person who purchased this cake and have recommended many others over the years. I was really looking forward to enjoying a taste of the cake and frosting I remember so well. I took one bite and almost cried. I guess that good memory is gone for good too like everything else. The frosting was suppose to be butter cream but tasted more like salt and lard. So sad.

I had a deeply disappointing experience at Atwood’s Bakery. Despite the restaurant not being busy at all, I waited 20 minutes before I had to ask for a server, After finally receiving a menu, I was ignored again for 15 more minutes until I just gave up and went to the counter and asked for my order to be taken.

The servers seemed disorganized, with no clear understanding of who was responsible for which tables. Worse, they appeared to intentionally ignore both seated guests and those walking in. The lack of coordination was glaringly obvious by other guest who seemed confused as well.

The several folks behind the counter who appear to be management seem completely indifferent to the poor service being provided. Very disappointing.

Despite them opening at 7am for breakfast the restaurant was extremely cold in the dining room at 1:00pm. I heard several other elderly guest complaining.

The pimento cheese sandwich was served as a cold and sloppy, flavorless mess. The French onion soup was served without a spoon- lucky they had some plastic ones I found myself by the coffee station.

Seems like the family members that have taken the helm, have a much more ‘laissez-faire’ hand-off attitude when managing their staff, sevice, and product than when they earned their reputation in their glory days.

I got some sugar cookies, a tie dye cookie, an iced christmas stocking cookie, and a Chantilly berry bowl. I spent about $32. Everything i tasted had a chemical taste to it and kind of like they forgot to add flavoring to their cookies. It all looked great, but tasted pretty bad. The inside of the bakery looked pretty amazing, so I had a lot of hope for their baked goods.

STOP HERE!! Wow on all levels! Like stopping in at Nana's house. The grits are the best I've ever had and I'm from the south. Best coffee in town. What a special place!!

Kid-friendliness: This place is like coming home to eat with family.
