I visited Rhea’s Specialty Meats today between Elton and Basile for the first time. I ordered shrimp etouffee and fried fish. I was given extra fish because the pieces were small. (A plus) They give you so much food that you can probably share it with 2-3 people. Everybody in the place was very nice. I am sure you know I don't say much on FB. But I can't keep quiet on this one. I have eaten at Rhea's Specialty Meats & Smokehouse in Basile twice in the last few weeks. The food is great. True, southern cooking with the personality to match. I enjoyed visiting with Jude during lunch. I never can just stop and eat. The meat selection is also great. Thanks for being in business. I look forward to eating many more times as I work in the area.

This place has it all and definitely is the go to spot in the small town of Basile. This establishment draws a diverse crowd from local residents, numerous law enforcement agencies from sheriffs department, local police and homeland security personnel.
