My husband brought me here on a lunch lol date and I really enjoyed.. I ordered the Angus smoke burger with some bake beans and a smoke sweet potato. My husband ordered brisket with the smoked bake beans and jambalaya. Everything was great and cooked perfectly. The smoke taste was amazing. We really enjoyed. Good vibe and we also played a game of pool☺️.. overall 10/10

A month or so ago I came here with my boyfriend and I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this place! It was full of interesting and old items, billiards, darts outside and something delicious smelling on the pit. It felt like it should be on the other side of the river but Im so glad we have it in EBR!
A return customer’s critique - all the meat needs to be cooked lower and slower. The flavor and seasoning was on point. But I wanted my chicken and ribs to fall off the bone and pull apart nicely but it just didn’t.
Nonetheless, I plan on coming back!

Real chill spot. My first impression gave cigar lounge vibes . Great spot for adult game night with pool tables, darts, card/board game selection with a live band area indoor. Outdoor area is perfect for relaxing. The smoked ribs are fall off the bone with great seasoning!

Enjoyed the warm feeling of Smokey Pit, like a local bar/restaurant/ music venue. Food was good, service was good and the people, both employees and customers were friendly. Don’t let the industrial warehouse/office area where Smokey’s located scare you off. The people from those businesses are part of the local charm….as is the food and drinks.

accidentally proposed to a brisket at the smokey pit and it said yes, now we’re married and live in a tiny house behind the bar where we raise three ribs and a confused potato.

I really wanted to like this place. The lady who greeted me was so nice and told me all about their hours and the various events they have. She also gave me a tour of the space, and it was really nice! A man, who I believe to be the owner, was also great and really friendly.
My complaint is sadly with the food, though. I got brisket, potato salad, and baked beans. The brisket was quite bland, and the potato salad was somewhat gritty and had an underdone piece of potato in it. Maybe it was just an off day, but they were super friendly!

The bartender was great, welcoming atmosphere, very attentive. Brisket very very tender and tasty, our kids enjoyed looking at the old jukebox, darts and record player.

Let me tell you something.
Let me tell you something....the food here is out of this world delicious. I wanted something different so I looked up the best bbq in the city and The Smokey Pit came up first by a mile.
I ate by myself in the evening and had the ribs, pulled pork, jalapeno sausage, baked beans and potato salad. Ribs were packed with flavor from crust to bone. Pulled pork wasn't just MELT in your mouth tender, but deeelicious. The bbq sauce on the side is very good, but I barely used it...the food didn't need it. I had the grapefruit paloma which perfectly complemented my meal. I was so stuffed when leaving. Before I could waddle out I was given a tour of the place (which is much larger than it looks from the outside) by the incredibly warm and engaging staff.
I've eaten bbq all across the country and the food here is honestly the BEST I've had in the country. Yes, it's that good and there's no place like it!

The beef ribs here are amazing! The atmosphere is very chilled and comfortable. The customer service was excellent. Friendly staff, great food and a chill atmosphere are the key ingredients to making this one of the best eateries in Baton Rouge.
