Hot and sour soup was a bit sweet. I noticed it became sweet after adding fried wonton. Maybe this is a new ownership? This place has been around for years and I find it hard to believe if it is the same ownership all this time with food so bland and with only 8 reviews all being four stars and above.

So good. First time getting takeout there. The precautions they are taking during this time are over the top. I never touched a surface thanks to their ingenious design for pick up and place is so clean. Food was delicious!

I've been knowing this family since they had lived in Watson and ran one of the other hot Woks over here in Watson ,So I know the food is good and I'm always taking care of any time I call a order in, when I'm in Baton Rouge.

In our house, we love chinese food and crave it on the regular. The other night we went on waitr and ordered the closest chinese restaurant that was open and we hadn't tried yet. Hot Wok Express it is!! We ordered Crab Rangoons, Fried Dumplings, a Mandarain Chicken Meal and a Honey Chicken Meal. I am picky about crab rangoon. They need to have a certain sweetness to them that I'm not even sure what it is, but I NEED it. These rangoons passed the test and bonus the wonton wrap was nice and crispy. Dumplings were great. Perfectly steamed and then fried on one side so you get the perfect mix of flavor and texture. The honey chicken and rice and lo main all ruled too. We have had bad experiences with rice and lo mein other places so we were nervous but Hot Wok Express didnt disappoint. The mandarain chicken fell short unfortunately. I'm not sure they even gave us mandarain chicken. It was just a piece of fried chicken cut up. No sauce or flavor at all other than chicken. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't mandarain chicken. Lol. Overall, I would eat here again!!
This place is the worst. Everything has sugar on it, including the hot wings. The egg rolls are sweet and greasy. The service is horrible, if You don't fit their preferred clientele. I went there last night ordered hot wings with shrimp fried rice and two shrimp egg rolls. A little under $11 total. When I walked in, I smiled at the cashier , but she didn't greet me or acknowledge my presence. I didn't think much of it until two males came in behind me some minutes later. The cashier smiled, thanked them for coming in, and placed their change in their hand. Though, they both arrived at least ten minutes after me, they received their orders before mine. When I opened my plate, I noticed their version shrimp fried consists of rice with 3 small shrimp thrown in the corner of the plate. I was so disgusted after trying egg rolls, I just through whole plate away.... never again.

These people don't like black people. We went there twice every time we come they greet other colors and soon as they see us they don't speak and give us certain look. Our money is green just like everyone else and we'll well respectful people too. We never going there again.
