Mid city was so fun and beautiful, great facility layout. Great place to hang out and entertain clients or friends!

Very cool place to dine when in town. It started raining and staff acted fast to keep us dry

I came in alone and sat down quietly before anyone else at the bar. Two ladies were working behind the bar and both awkwardly ignored me and only acknowledged the men who entered in DIRECTLY behind me. It was the strangest thing because it was intentional- they deliberately avoided eye contact. I was left seated alone with no acknowledgment. I expected at least a “hi, one moment” or something decent considering I came in alone at 10:50 a.m. The place opens at 10:30. Instead, they ignored me and addressed the guests who came in and sat down after me.
Customer service is terrible, so i hope the food is worth it. will not be coming back and will not be recommending this place to anyone.

most awkward solo birthday brunch with the weirdest people i have ever experienced.

When the service is amazing, the food just taste better! We were a group of 12 and not for a second did I feel like we were forgotten. The place is great!

When judging a new Italian restaurant, one tries their Chicken Parmesan. When I try a new bar and grill, I try their Old Fashion.

The Old Fashion at MCBG is on-point. I will be back for food very soon.

Update: The pulled pork sandwich is messy but full of flavor. Check it out!

I am honestly surprised that I never knew Baton Rouge had a beer garden! If you are looking for splendid drinks, yummy food, and one hell of a good time in a laid-back environment, then look no further! @midcitybeergarden_br has it! I plan to come here more often now.

The atmosphere was nice, the music was too loud and it clashed with the ambiance of the place. Old school 70's music would have been better like Elton John, Barry Manilow, the Eagles etc. oh yeah; the food was lousy too.

Came in for the Ole Miss-LSU game. Although we had an extremely rude table of students next to us, the waitress was so friendly and attentive. Excellent place to watch the game, and the ambiance was pretty unmatched for anything I’d have expected for a college town. Can’t wait to come here again sometime.

Found this spot while looking for fun brunch options in Baton Rouge and was not disappointed! The brunch menu isn't very expansive but the one option my wife and I tend to get, the breakfast burrito, is amazing on the days when the cook preparing it is on their game; the quality of the cook varies depending on who's in the kitchen that day, but even when it's off it's pretty good. They have a very large & impressively categorized beer menu with some very nice craft beer options!

It has a spacious outdoor seating area with an open-sky patio in the center, and appears to cater to couples & otherwise parties without children.

One critique that I will offer is the extremely strict admittance policy which I've not encountered outside of nightclubs (back in the day), and that is they turned my wife and I away the first time we attempted to patron the place because we brought our toddler with us. They card you at the door even if you have salt & pepper in your beard and they absolutely will not admit children, even if you aren't attempting to sit at the bar (inside).

If you are a younger couple or a party of college students this spot is a very nice brunch (or otherwise) option, but if yours is a family-type situation, scratch this place off your list if your kids do not have a babysitter.

Terrible place. Over priced drinks and crowded atmosphere. Snarky manager decided to discriminate against me and my 8 week old daughter. Not worth the drive -_-

Parking: Not many spots.

Kid-friendliness: NOT. Discriminate against nursing moms and newborns. Not welcome.

I am so disappointed but it’s not at Mid City Beer Garden at all. I love this place SO much. My husband and I plan a trip to Baton Rouge every year for an LSU game and this place is a staple… I looked forward to their beer selection and pretzel for months. Last year I was pregnant and they even had a non-alcoholic pumpkin beer on tap… which was amazing!

I couldn’t wait to come here (as soon as they opened) and have ONE pumpkin beer, and delicious bar eats with my little family this year. We are fleeing a hurricane from a large coastal city, where we have never been kicked out of a bar or restaurant since he has been born. We take him out all the time, go as soon as they open, don’t stay for long, I step out if there’s even a hint of fussiness but he’s overall very chill and was literally asleep today.

Come to find out, this city has a law that prevents any establishment that classified as a “bar,” based on alcohol vs food sales from allowing under 21. Some tragedy that happened to an LSU student has led to a completely asinine law that actually just prohibits young families from enjoying game day with their children, and parents in town for game day from being able to grab some bites and beer with their <21 college student (that was 3 years of my college experience if my math is correct). These breweries and bars are completely empty on a Thursday morning, I really hope these laws get reversed or else I don’t know if we will be continuing this tradition ourselves.
