Nastiest smelling bar in Baton Rouge! Smells like literal vomit. This place used to have a vibe till the incompetent owner took the middle wall out and changed this place completely. Sometimes when something isn’t broke don’t try to fix it. Do better and clean your dang restaurant dude.

A little pricey, but good food and portion sizes. The Grits and Grillade platter was filling and flavorful. Bathrooms are decorated with a rural, slapdash decor which was somewhat unsettling. Location of the restaurant is set back from the road in a strip mall so it can be slightly difficult to locate.

The food is pretty good, and the environment is nice but the music definitely needs an upbeat vibe. Most of it sounds like elevator music.🎵

I’d love to give zero stars if I can. Normally the place is great but TODAY?? Terrible! Came here with my family, sat at a table outside & waiter 30 minutes just to get greeted & a glass of water. Eventually the manager came to the table & told us they were short staffed and there’s nothing he could help us with. Terrible staff and terrible manager. His name is James by the way. As a person who works in a restaurant this was terrible service, terrible attitudes & I will not be coming back! EVER

when Olive or Twist first opened, it absolutely blew up because it was a sophisticated, upscale bar with intimate lounge seats that were PERFECT for bringing a date. their drinks were fresh and creative. they also had a small food menu of maybe 5-10 items, and that’s all they needed. I and all my friends were in love with this special place.
a few years after opening, the owner made a decision to knock down a wall and expand into the adjacent space to create more room. now that would have been great if they had kept their same vibe, but for some reason, they decided to put in regular dining tables and added a lot more food to the menu, transforming it into more of a restaurant with a bar, rather than a bar with a food menu. the food went very noticeably downhill, and the overall cleanliness of the place went noticeably down hill. after they expanded, it was just consistently louder, dirtier, and too much like any other restaurant. the worst part is probably that it lost its unique, special, clean vibe. i am basing this off of at least 7-10 visits since they expanded.
i went a few weeks ago on a sunday at 3pm. it was packed. the dining room was absolutely wrecked with trash and food all over the floor. it was very warm in there like the A/C was playing on its phone instead of cooling the place. the sun was shining through the windows, so i could see the windows were totally covered in smudges (even high up where people can’t reach), like they hadn’t been cleaned in ages. we ordered a couple drinks and then asked for the check. i’m telling you, this place used to be one of THE MOST popular places in Baton Rouge. the drinks are still good, but the intimate vibe is lost, the upscale-but-reasonably-priced part is lost, and now it’s always dirty and has too much of a food smell.
i’m very forgiving and really don’t like leaving negative reviews, but i’m personally so disappointed about what Olive or Twist turned into, and again, this is based on 15-20 visits before their expansion and 7-10 visits after.

An experience. The appetizers came out and were fantastic as was the first round of drinks. Things started going downhill after. For a Saturday night at about 8pm they were out of drink ingredients?!? I found that strange but the inability to order due to certain items also being out of stock. The Sam's Club french fries were as expected but the plastic fork just made the experience everything I knew this was going to be. The eclectic collection of barware that trickled to the table is reminiscent of the donated glassware from your grandparents at the Goodwill. The portions are extremely small, the flavor was basic. Cocktails were the best part, but nothing to make a detour to go see.

I had a horrible experience on a the company allows their workers put their hands on customers. I have sent multiple emails to Josh the owner and he decided to deliberately no respond. The owner has stated that he believes in putting his hand on women. I know a few people that work there and they have stated that he’s a horrible person

We are from out of town but, I’m very disappointed. We showed up on a Saturday night for some drinks with my family. My daughter ordered drinks and she was given a negative attitude as if it was an inconvenience for them to take her order. There were literally four bartenders in an essentially empty bar and service was extremely slow. Between the speed of service and their crappy attitude, it’s no wonder there are only ten customers in here on a Saturday night… the locals know what’s up here.

I was hoping to leave a positive review however, the website inaccurately depicts the menu options available to patrons. I arrived two minutes after Olive or twists opening with my guest on 08/13/2024. I didn’t understand why the kitchen was set to open at 4pm instead of Olive or twists opening time at 3pm. My guest and waited about 30 mins before departing because we were anticipating being able to eat before our arrival and had we known the kitchen opened an hour after the restaurant closes.. we would have initially chosen elsewhere where. Roux 61 about a mile away was able to accommodate my guest and I. The website also advertises bottomless mimosas, which they don’t have and I was anticipating that as well. I’m unsure if the restaurant owner is aware that the menu options online are outdated, as some of the options on their websites menu no longer exist in the restaurant. I was hoping to leave a positive review truly but having to plan a social outing only to double back as a result of misinformation is incredibly frustrating
